John Tenerowicz, Joanne White, Rosemary Flescher, Tammy Nelson AND Joann Webster were absent excused Staff members present were Linda Kinchen, Secretary and Chris McCarthy, Parks Superintendent. APPROVAL OF MINUTES SEPTEMBER 24, 2014 A motion to approve the minutes was made by Mr. Sims, second by Mrs. Flescher, passed unanimously OLD BUSINESS: SKATE PARK DISCUSSION. Chris said that they are incorporating the things the kids wanted will be 100 x 70 Mr. Tenerowicz asks if the design fits in with the budget — Yes Mr. Paschall wants written dimensions. Mr. Paschall said they also wanted some types of shading — Mrs. Flescher says covered picnic table benches would be good. There was a unanimous consensus for the design ALTERNATE SITES FOR DISC GOLF Chris says that the disc golf course will not be able to go in the storm water park and is looking for alternate sites for construction. Her suggests Filbert Street which would allow for only 9 holes or Schumann Island on Kildare which would allow for an 18 hole course. Can put some on the north side and a little on the south side this area would not impact any homes or walkers. Mrs. White says could everyone go look at the sites and the 33 acres off Tracy Drive Secretary to email absent members to look at the sites prior to next meeting. Gabriel Knox 8556 102nd Court plays disc golf at Wickham — Schumann Island sounds good to him says club members would come out to build the course they are 13 to 16 yrs old and live from Melbourne to Sebastian. Some live in Ft Pierce, some in Titusville and everywhere in between. There are 50 members. Ben Hocker says there is a large airport or golf course. If getting large will need restrooms and other stuff maybe at the airport would be better. Committee to look at locations and bring back. PARKS AND RECREATION MINUTES 11/24/14 Page 2 NEW BUSINESS; NONE INPUT FROM THE PUBLIC; Bob Faust 813 Barber Street says 1 year ago were looking for a tennis wall — 2 walls there made out of CBS City already ordered walls — thank you very much 2 walls go to Schumann and one is for Friendship Park The original CBS walls/racquet ball courts can't be put in at Friendship due to the retention ponds — the City will install the other walls Jim Sunnycalb — comments about parks committee — made a difference Easy St park Playground needs a no pets allowed sign Riverview Park Christmas Tree What can we do to fix it from going out every time it rains. Mr. Tenerowicz says the second handicap sign is up at the Dog Park There are several parking problems at events the Christmas Parade is December 6a' at 6PM. MEMBERS MATTERS: Mrs. White says need police presence on Main Street on December 5s' for light up night. Way too many ducks at the pond on Easy Street the benches are full of duck poop — 3 pairs of babies so there are maybe 38 ducks can we relocate some would want to be involved in that Has a neighbor who has one with a name. Jim Sunnycalb says Muscogee ducks will attack you Mrs. Flescher says Garden Club and George Street Parks are good people are using them all the time and they are nice and clean — December 5s' is light up night but we should please patronize the businesses all year long. PARKS AND RECREATION MINUTES 11/24/14 Page 3 Mr. Paschall asks what is the protocol for new land purchases for Parks - Manager and council then look for locations — Fleming Street property would make a great park — RV park was not approved.
