Re: Commerical Lots S. R. 512
Dear Mayor Flood:
As we discussed at the workshop on December 7, 1983, the City leas
requested General Development Utilities, Inc. (GDU) to provide water
service to certain commercial lots adjacent to S.R. 512. GDU 1-s
obligated to provide water service to these lots on December 31, 1985•
To provide service in advance of obligated dates requires us to
determine whether it is economically feasible to provide service.
Based on existing commercial businesses and potential for additional
customers, GDU would be agreeable to providing water service to those
lots if the City agrees to allow GDU to add to rate base the
uncontributed cost of providing service. This would allow us to
earn a return on the investment and thus offset the cost of providing
service.
•If this arrangement is acceptable -to the City, then GDU would provide
service to Block 186, 187, 188, 189, 485, 490, 492, 508 and 509 within
60 days of the lot owners meeting these conditions:
1. Entering into an executed Utility Agreement with GDU,
2. Payment of all connection charges.
3. Providing GDU with a building permit and site plan.
