2014 - Hart RE All Aboard Florida
June 12, 2014 Margaret Hart;t Of N? p?© 6165 S. Mirror Lake DR #210 c't1 c; rt en Sebastian, FL 32958 of, Re: All Aboard Florida Sebastian City Council, Here is example of the "big boys" changing our city. Corporate Development for Florida East Coast Industries is planning a high speed train to run through the city of Sebastian with no stops from Orlando to Miami. How is this justified when they could invest in airplanes to fly nonstop? Have the risks (accidents, pollution, environment, etc.) between high speed trains and airplanes been studied? What are the reasons for All Aboard Florida? What right do they have to force this on cities between Orlando and Miami who may not want this intrusion? Common sense takes into consideration the needs and concerns of our neighbors unique to our city. Big money is for the greed of a few entitled bureaucrats who scheme to steal the rights of others for their own benefit. Today we must stand for our rights or be "railroaded". It is the choice of each city to decide what heritage they desire to endow to the present and future generations. All Aboard Florida has already broken the promise to notify Sebastian City Council when survey work would begin. The environmental studies should have been completed first before any survey work started. These are red flags that they should not be trusted and we should immediately withdraw support of this project. In other words, does the city of Sebastian want to be "railroaded" or to stand up for our rights? It is a choice to speak or not to speak for the citizens of Sebastian. Thank you for the liberty to voice my concern in regarding All Aboard Florida. Kindly regards, Margaret Hart
