Aqenda Item Title: Approve funding for Disc Golf Course
Recommendation: Move to appropriate $18,000.00 from Recreational Impact
Fees to fund installation of Disc Golf Course contingent
upon SJWMD approval.
Background: Several citizens have approached staff over the years regarding
installation of a Disc Golf Course in the City. The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board
unanimously approved this idea at their July 28, 2014 meeting. The Stormwater Park
off Englar Drive is a possible location. This location would require approval from the
St. Johns River Water Management District. Bala Haeseler, a local Disc Golf Pro,
has offered to help with the design of the course. Staff will come back to Council with
location and final design before installation.

courses, schools and other venues.

700,000 regular players who welcome and
encourage new participants.

Permanent Model Features
Target Top _ Visible and Durable. All stainless steel construction. Each
target top is also powder coated bright yellow to provide great visibility on
the course.
Chains — Made to catch discs and withstand abuse. 28 strands of
galvanized 2/0 chains. (14 outer, 14 inner)
Basket — 10" deep basket helps prevent discs bouncing out. Collects
multiple practice putts without interfering with chain action. Galvanized
3/8" steel rod construction. New for 2012, our 14 spoke basket design

Pole — Our hot -dip galvanized 74" pole is made with sturdy 1/8" walls. Eac

Installation Tube — 24" long hot -dip galvanized steel tube. Provides
a snug fit for the target at PDGA approved height. Aligns with
locking collar for security. Included in price.
