Mathew Sims. Mr. Paschall were absent along with Mrs. Flescher
Staff members present were Linda Kinchen, Secretary and Chris McCarthy, Parks

APPROVAL OF MINUTES JANUARY 26, 2015

unanimously
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: DISC GOLF SITE
Chris said that the City Manager likes the island site all members agree
Mrs. White walked the island and said it is very woody but a great location
Mr. Sims asks if the bridge is ADA accessible and Chris stated not at this time.
Chris calls some of the golfers up to speak on this location.
PUBLIC INPUT;
Kim from Melbourne Florida — Plays at the Palm Bay course where there is 8 acres and
18 holes each hole is between 150 and 400 feet. The island probably could only
accommodate 9 holes.
Justin — Sebastian Florida — Would be safer for nine holes — no cement is necessary can
use rubber matting or paint.
Jorge Dominick Coconut Street, Sebastian Florida — willing to help built it and members
will be very careful
Rich — President of Brevard County Disc Golf - Good idea and can be built with
volunteers.
Kayaker — need more access for launching just off to the side on Main Street ramp —
could put in a little work for easy access. Want driveway at Riverview Park for direction.
PARKS AND RECREATION MINUTES April 27, 2015 Page 2

replaced. Chris says they have been in the capital project for years and City keeps
pushing them out further and further.
