Joe and Andrea,
Per the meeting this morning Tues 7/7 with the Train Impact Coalition (TIC), the following is a summary of action items :
• Agencies are waiting to receive the 90% plans of the crossings in late July or early August
• Request with the 90% crossing plans the entire rail corridor within each jurisdiction
• Identify the construction impacts relating to AAF during the construction like pile driving
• Any work outside of the FEC right-of-way (at street crossings) will require permits from the local agencies
• FRA will enforce the new policy that all railway crossings to have Positive Train Control (PTC) system by Dec 31,
2015
• Research other examples of high speed passenger rail using the same track with the existing freight rail
• Check into emergency and incident response requirements by the local agency for high speed incidents
• Continue to document and quantify an environmental and historical impacts
• Review the consultant report hired by St Lucie County on AAF environmental impacts
• Question from the County and Vero on why they needed to do track improvements at crossing prior to AAF
• TIC will prepare a summary of the meeting discussion
