I am satisfied with the current arrangement. Growth Management knows our procedures and any specific code
questions can be directed to me at my office. We do not have adequate staff to attend these meetings at this time. I
thank you for the consideration to include us in these meetings but as it stands now I see no immediate need for us to
attend.
Thanks again
Wayne

Wayne --
We held the subject preconstruction meeting this afternoon with the project engineer, developer, and contractor
personnel. It seemed to go okay and the outcome was satisfactory. Growth Management was represented by
Tracy Hass and Jan King. Engineering was also well represented. Terry Hill was present from Public Works.
The purpose of this email is to state the policy we are using for these preconstruction meetings and to ask you if
you want to change it to include anyone directly from the Building Department. That is:
We currently view Growth Management as automatically representing the Building Department in these
preconstruction meetings. It seems to work without compromising your own policies and saves time for
your own departmental personnel. Let us know, however, if you want to receive invitations to these
project preconstruction meetings in future. If not (as is the case now), we will continue to look to Growth
Management to provide standard answers regarding Building Dept. issues in such meetings. We will
continue to refer the project personnel directly to you if we think we cannot adequately address any
questions that may pertain to Building Department policy / procedures.
I have already discussed this with Jan King and she concurs with the above. Just let us know if you want to
consider changing this approach in any way.
Thanks.

As Ashbury has been released from zoning review and entered the construction phase, Growth Management will gladly
participate in a pre -construction meeting, but construction related details are a bit beyond our level of expertise and are
better organized and managed via the Engineering Department. Please advise as to when such a meeting is organized
and Growth Management will gladly participate.
Thanks,
Tracy

Construction Meeting for the Ashbury project at our earliest convenience. He is suggesting next Tuesday afternoon,
14 December, at 2:00 PM in City Hall facilities.
I assume you are the ones to set it up. Please advise back when/where "officially"
