He was born in the Bronx, New York, raised his family in Northvale, New Jersey and retired to Sebastian from Toms River, New Jersey in 2000. He was a US Army veteran and served as a Cannoneer for the 351st Infantry during WWII, where he earned the European African Middle East Northern Campaign Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. He retired as an elevator electrician with the IBEW Local 3, New York. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mildred A. Trainor of Sebastian, daughter Deborah Trainor of Westwood, New Jersey, sons John Trainor, Jr. of Nanuet, New York and Kevin Trainor of Northvale, New Jersey, nephew John Compossa of Holtsville, New York, grandsons Michael (and wife Lindsey) and Kevin Jr. 03/29/2016 17:46 FUNERAL.
