He just returned from vacation and wanted to know the status. I brought him up to date as best I could. He said he would be happy to work on an hourly basis (shouldn't take too long) to get some bid plans to some local contractors (who may have declined to bid previously) to try to get lower bids. He feels that out-of-town bids from contractors not all that familiar with the project or the City may have driven the bid to its current high levels. I told Joe I would pass this message along and that he may hear from you all if you wanted to discuss it further. Joe Schulke's office telephone number is 770-9622. -- Dave David Fisher From: Alfred Minner Sent: Monday, June 26, 2006 5:35 PM To: David Fisher, Jerry Converse; CA is McCarthy; Linda Kinchen Subject: REAWVk' d / Lift Station Bidip Dave and All I spoke to Linda about this last Thursday. She contacted one of the vendors and they said their pump only number was around $20K. So at $80K the project was way over. I asked Linda to call the vendors for a line -item detail on their RFPs. I did not have a chance to get that information from her today. We all need to talk about this tomorrow. If those numbers turn out that way. I think we will change process and have the City build the fence and other information while while low vendor builds the lift station.
