MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY CHAIRMAN ARTHUR TROWBRIDGE AT 7:00 P.M.
PRESENT: CHAIRMAN ARTHUR TROWBRIDGE, VICE CHAIRMAN DON LIVINGSTON, DAN MELIA,
HARRY MORRIS, DON VICKERS, CLAY PRICE, DAVID NISBET.
ABSENT: CARROLL SIMES; THOMAS LOUGHLIN (EXCUSED).
MRS. ERAINA PALUCH WAS GRANTED PERMISSION TO ADDRESS THE BOARD. MRS. PALUCH,
REPRESENTING -THE LIBRARY ASSOCIATION, REQUESTED PERMISSION TO USE 18 CHAIRS
AND 7 TABLES BELONGING TO THE GOLF COURSE WHICH ARE NOW IN STORAGE.
MOTION BY MR. MELIA, SECONDED BY MR. LIVINGSTON, TO LEASE TO THE LIBRARY ASSOCIA-
TION WHATEVER AVAILABLE SURPLUS CHAIRS_.AND TABLES BELONGING TO THE GOLF COURSE
FOR $1.00 PER YEAR. CARRIED.
MOTION BY MR. MORRIS, SECONDED BY MR. MELIA, TO WAIVE THE $1.00 PER YEAR FOR
THE FIRST YEAR. CARRIED.
THE -SECRETARY READ THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF FEBRUARY 10. THE FOLLOWING
CORRECTIONS WERE MADE TO THE MINUTES: MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:00 -P.M..,
NOT 7:30. 3RD PARAGRAPH, 2ND PAGE - MRS. WILLEY WAS "ASKED", NOT."APPOINTED",
SINCE BOARD HAS NO POWER TO APPOINT. ADD TO MOTION: ELIMINATE THE SECOND MEET-
ING.IN FEBRUARY.

ING OF FEBRUARY 10 AS CORRECTED. CARRIED.
MEETING WAS HALTED AT THIS POINT FOR THE TAKING` OF_ PHOTOGRAPHS _ OF THE MEMBERS : OF
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
MOTION BY MR. MELIA, SECONDED BY MR. VICKERS, THAT THE SEBASTIAN MUNICIPAL GOLF
COURSE BECOME A MEMBER OF THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AT A COST OF $50.00. CARRIED.
WITH REGARD TO THE PRO -AM COMING UP ON MAY 7-8, CHAIRMAN TROWBRIDGE REPORTED.THE
FOLLOWING-CHANGES,FROM LAST YEAR'S FORMAT: NO GUARANTEE OF PRIZE MONEY FOR PROS;
AMATEUR PRIZES IN GIFT CERTIFICATES RATHER THAN SPECIFYING CERTAIN PRIZES; ELIMI-
NATED GUARANTEE OF $50. PER PRO - WILL PAY TOP 15 PLACES RATHER THAN PAY EACH PRO
WHO PARTICIPATES: THERE WILL BE A COCKTAIL
PARTY THE FRIDAY PRECEDING THE TOURNAMENT AND MAYOR FLOOD AGREED TO SEE IF HE
COULD ARRANGE ANOTHER BBQ. ENTRY FEE WILL STILL BE $100., BUT $20. WILL BE TAKEN
OFF THE TOP FOR GREENS FEES AND CART FEES. CHAIRMAN TROWBRIDGE READ THE LETTER
WHICH MR. LADD WILL SEND OUT ANNOUNCING THE TOURNAMENT.
CHAIRMAN TROWBRIDGE ANNOUNCED THERE WILL BE A MEMBER -GUEST TOURNAMENT APRIL 16-17.
THE FOURTH OF JULY COMMITTEE HAS AGREED TO SPONSOR AN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY SENIOR
TOURNAMENT JUNE 11-12. THEY WILL SET THE ENTRY FEE. ALL WE'RE INTERESTED IN IS
GREENS AND CART FEES. IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT SOMEONE SHOULD ATTEND THE NEXT MEET-
ING OF THE FOURTH OF JULY COMMITTEE TO DISCUSS THIS.
THE USGA IS RATING THE GOLF COURSE.
IDEAL_ COMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION WANTS TO MAKE UP PROGRAMS FOR THE PRO -AM. THEY
WILL PAY US $500. THERE WERE NO OBJECTIONS.
DODGER PINES HAS INCREASED THE FLAG RATES TO $8. THIS MATTER.WAS DISCUSSED_
BRIEFLY, IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT IF WE DID NOT RAISE OUR CURRENT RATE OF $7.,
THIS MIGHT ACT AS AN INCENTIVE. THIS WAS TABLED UNTIL THE NEXT MEETING WHEN
MORE INFORMATION MIGHT BE FORTHCOMING.
AN OFFER - AS AS BEEN RECEIVED FOR THE PRINTING OF SCORE CARDS WITH ADVERTISING ON
FREE OF CHARGE. MR. MORRIS WAS OPPOSED TO THIS ON THE GROUNDS THAT WE DON'T
NEED TO ADVERTISE ON THE SCORE CARDS.
MOTION BY MR. MELIA TO TABLE THIS UNTIL THE NEXT MEETING TO GIVE US A CHANCE .TO
THINK IT OVER. MOTION DIED FOR A LACK OF SECOND.
MOTION BY MR. PRICE, SECONDED BY MR. LIVINGSTON, TO GIVE TENTATIVE APPROVAL SUBJECT
TO APPROVAL BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE GOLF COURSE.UPON FORMAT AND ADVERTIS-
ING SPONSORS.

THE MATER OF THE RANGERS' DUTIES WAS DISCUSSED. PETE HOEY, HEAD OF THE RANGERS,
EXPLAINED HOW THESE DUTIES ARE PERFORMED AND WAS OF THE OPINION THAT IT WAS NOT
NECESSARY TO HIRE ANYMORE RANGERS. HE SUGGESTED, HOWEVER, THAT ONE MORE MAN
COULD BE PUT ON TO RELIEVE HIM AND HE COULD THEN WORK ONE DAY WITH EACH MAN.
MR. MELIA RECOMMENDED THAT ANOTHER MAN BE TAKEN ON AND HAVE MR. HOEY REPORT BACK
HOW ITS WORKING OUT.
THE SUBJECT OF THE STARTERS PUTTING PEOPLE ON THE BACK 9 AND WORKING PEOPLE IN
WAS DISCUSSED. PEOPLE SHOULD BE TOLD IF THERE IS NO ROOM. THEY CAN ALWAYS GET
A REFUND. IT WAS AGREED THAT NO SINGLES SHOULD RIDE IN CARTS ON BUSY DAYS, AND
NO TWOSOMES SHOULD BE SENT OUT. MR. MORRIS WILL TALK TO THE STARTER AND REPORT
BACK AT THE NEXT MEETING.
MR. LIVINGSTON REPORTED THAT FLOWERS HAD BEEN PLANTED AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE
CLUB HOUSE AND SOME SHRUBS HAVE BEEN PURCHASED. MOLE CRICKETS ARE CAUSING QUITE
A PROBLEM. A CHEMICAL COMPANY HAS OFFERED TO SPRAY THE FIRE ANTS AT NO CHARGE,
ON AN EXPERIMENTAL BASIS, AND THE BOARD AGREED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE OFFER.
CHAIRMAN TROWBRIDGE REMARKED THAT A FRIEND OF HIS HAD TOLD HIM THAT HE HAD PLAYED
ON VARIOUS COURSES AROUND THE STATE AND OUR GREENSKEEPER SHOULD BE COMMENDED FOR
THE BEAUTIFUL JOB HE HAS DONE ON OUR COURSE.

MR. KRAGES HAS A NEW CHEMICAL TO TRY ON THE MOLE CRICKETS. MAYOR FLOOD WILL
CALL A FRIEND OF HIS IN ORLANDO TO SET UP A DATE TO GO WITH MR. KRAGES AND
SOME OTHER MEMBERS OF THE BOARD TO INSPECT A COURSE THERE TO SEE WHAT THEY
ARE DOING.
MR. NESBIT WAS APPOINTED TO WORK ON THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE COMMITTEE. CHAIRMAN
TROWBRIDGE STATED THAT MR. CLEDES WANTS TO BOOK PARTIES ON HIS OWN TIME IN THE
EVENING AT THE GOLF COURSE, AND CHARGE $1. EXTRA PER PERSON. IF THERE IS A
MEMBER PRESENT OR AN ASSOCIATE --MEMBER IN THE GROUP, THERE WOULD BE -NO PROBLEM.

MOTION BY MR. MELIA, SECONDED BY MR. LIVINGSTON, THAT MR. CLEDES BE PERMITTED
TO BOOK PARTIES AND OTHER FUNCTIONS AT THE GOLF COURSE RESTAURANT AND THAT HE
BE -PERMITTED TO ADD $1.00 PER.INDIVIDUAL FOR -THE -COST OF THE PARTIES AND RETAIN
THAT $1.00 AS HIS COMPENSATION. CARRIED.
MOTION BY MR. MORRIS, SECONDED BY MR. LIVINGSTON, TO EXTEND THE MEETING FOR
15 MINUTES;. CARRIED.
CHAIRMAN TROWBRIDGE READ A LETTER DATED MARCH 10, 1983, FROM ALBERT CHALOUX.
MOTION BY MR. MELIA, SECONDED BY MR. LIVINGSTON, THAT WE HAVE ALREADY . ANSWERED
MR. CHALOUX TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY AND THEREFORE. WE WILL DISREGARD THIS
NON -ULTIMATUM.
MR.;PRICE OBJECTED TO THE WORD "DISREGARD".
MOTION AMENDED BY MR. MELIA, SECONDED BY MR. LIVINGSTON, THAT WE HAVE ALREADY
ANSWERED MR. CHALOUX TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY AND WE TREAT IT AS A MISSIVE
ALREADY ANSWERED. CARRIED.
MOTION BY MR. PRICE, SECONDED BY MR. LIVINGSTON, TO SEE THAT ALL DEPARTMENT
HEADS-=BE.REQUIRED TO ATTEND MEETINGS. CARRIED.
AFTER A BRIEF DISCUSSION IT WAS DECIDED THAT IN MAY THE SUBJECT OF HAVING
ONE MEETING A MONTH WILL BE CONSIDERED.
MAYOR FLOOD REPORTED, WITH REGARD TO FREE USE OF CARTS BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS,
THAT THE BONDS WILL BE PAID BY APRIL 15, AND THEN THE INDENTURE COULD BE CHANGED.
HE MENTIONED THAT SOME CITIZENS HAVE CALLED JACKSONVILLE WITH COMPLAINTS AND HE
RECOMMENDED THAT THOSE WHO PERSIST IN CAUSING TROUBLE SHOULD BE GIVEN BACK THEIR
MONEY. ALSO, THE LAW FIRM THAT WROTE THE INDENTURE HAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE LEASE
DEAL FOR THE PRO SHOP AND FOOD AND BEVERAGE.
MOTION BY MR. MORRIS, SECONDED BY MR. VICKERS, TO GIVE A CHECK TO THE AIRPORT
FOR $5000. CARRIED.
MR. PRICE MENTIONED THE $2000. STILL ,OWED TO TIFTON AND MAYOR FLOOD SAID HE
WILL NOT O.K. UNTIL MR. KRAGES RELEASES THE LIEN.
THE BOARD APPROVED THE PRO -RATING OF MEMBERSHIPS ON A MONTHLY BASIS.
