City of Sebastian Recreation Advisory Committee June 21, 1999 7:00 PM Minutes Called to order by Vice -Chairman Roll Call: the following members were present: Maura Raborn - Sebastian Panthers, Inc. absent Virginia Nichols - Friendly Tennis Group, Marjorie Schaub - Sebastian River Art Club, Nancy Diamond - Indian River County Parks and Recreation Liaison Carol McConnell - Citizen -at -Large, absent excused Larry Vickers, alt for Mrs. McConnell Robert Bates - Craft Club of Sebastian, Clifford Moss, Sebastian Old Boys, Cory Richter - Sebastian Soccer Association, Inc, absent excused Joanne Webster - Sebastian River Area Little League, Inc., absent Vacant — resident alternate Staff members present were Linda Kinchen, Recording Secretary, and Chris McCarthy, Parks Supervisor A motion to approve Minutes of March 22, 1999, April 19, 1999 and May 17, 1999 by Mrs. Schaub second Mr. Moss passed unanimously. I� Old Business; None New Business: No discussion took place since the Skatepark Representative did not show up. Public Input — None Member Comments — Mr. Bates will be absent for the next meeting Staff Comments — Chris asks about Filbert Street Property ideas. Mr. Bates suggests playground, walking trail, picnic tables, benches. Mr. Vickers asks about order of development asks what comes fust St Johns permit, restroom, naturewalk, pavilion, Mr. Vickers would like the specs and site plan for Barber Street Sports Complex. Says on the west side of original field there is a concrete sidewalk proposed ten feet from end zone wants to see if that will prevent a problem. States under discussion just the site plan would be acceptable no specs will be necessary. Mrs. Nichols states that the old tennis courts need resurfacing — Chris states not in budget but looking into fixing the cracks. Also Mrs. Nichols states roof shingles coming off and water fountain is not cold. Public Input: Ben Bishop 1561 Pennlynn street speaks on the lack of committee work on the skate park says needs to be pushed over the hump and asks the recreation committee to take over the park plans. Chris will get with Tom Cecerle about the plans and bring back at the next meeting. A motion to adjourn was made by Mrs. Schaub second Mr. Vickers passed unanimously. /'� Adjourned at 7:45 PM.
