CANVASSING BOARD PUBLIC MEETINGS
FOR THE CITIES OF SEBASTIAN AND VERO BEACH
NOVEMBER 3, 2015 MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
The Municipal Canvassing Boards will convene at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015
for an orientation meeting and to conduct a Logic and Accuracy Test on the tabulating
equipment to be used for the November 3, 2015 Municipal Elections. This and all Canvassing
Board meetings will be held at the Indian River County Supervisor of Elections Office, located at
4375 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach, Florida. In accordance with the Sunshine Law of Florida, all
meetings are open to the public. All candidates or their designated representatives are invited
to attend. The purpose of this meeting is to test the voting and tabulation equipment to be
used for absentee and Election Day voting. This test is held pursuant to Section 101.5612 (1)
Florida Statutes and verified by the Canvassing Board.
The canvassing of absentee ballots will begin on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at the
Elections Office and ballots will be available for public inspection between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00
a.m. The Canvassing Board will reconvene on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. to
continue canvassing absentee ballots until final certification. Public inspection of these sealed
absentee ballots will be available between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Those wishing to inspect
absentee ballots received after 4:00 p.m. must be present throughout the remainder of the day
until the polls close.
The Canvassing Board will reconvene at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 5th to canvass the
provisional ballots and certify the official election results as required by their respective charter,
and also randomly select race/precinct for the Post Election Manual Audit. If canvassing of
provisional ballots concludes on election night, the official election results will be certified for
the municipality and the race/precinct for the Audit will be selected. Therefore, the November
5th meeting will not be necessary.
On Monday, November 9th at 9:00 a.m. the Post Election Manual Audit will commence for the
City Vero Beach, and at 10:00 a.m. for the City of Sebastian. Audit results will be made public
no later than Tuesday, November 24tH
It may become necessary for the Municipal Canvassing Boards to reconvene at times or places
other than specified above. If so, the location, date and time will be announced at the
conclusion of the pertinent meeting, posted online at www.voteindianriver.com and posted on
the door of the Supervisor of Elections office.
Note: Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, states that if a person decides to appeal any decision
by a board, agency, or commission with respect to any matter considered at a meeting or
hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she
may need to ensure that verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the
testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
Pursuant to Section 286.26, F.S., if any physically handicapped person needs special
accommodation to participate in these proceedings, he or she shall contact the Supervisor of
Elections office at least 48 hours prior to the public meeting.

MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE
Indian River County, FL — Supervisor of Elections Leslie Swan reminds residents of the cities of Sebastian and
Vero Beach that they must be registered to vote by Monday, October 5, 2015 in order to be eligible to vote in
the November 3, 2015 Municipal Elections. In accordance with Florida Statute 97.055, the registration books
close on the 29`" day before each election. Once the registration books are closed, voter registrations may be
accepted for the purpose of subsequent elections only.
To be eligible to vote in these elections, a person must be 18 years of age, a United States citizen, and a legal
resident of the State of Florida and Indian River County. A voter must also be a resident of the City of Sebastian
or the City of Vero Beach in orderto vote in the November 3rd Municipal Elections.
Voter registration applications are available at the Supervisor of Elections office, public libraries, county offices,
city halls and state agencies that provide public assistance. Applications are also available online at
www.voteindianriver.com. Completed applications must be signed, dated and returned to the Supervisor of
Elections office by the close of business on October 5, 2015.
It is important to keep your voter information up to date. The information you provide determines your voting
precinct and voter eligibility. Voters are encouraged to check their voter registration status at
www.voteindianriver.com by selecting "Am I Registered?" on the homepage and inserting your last name,
birthdate and the house number of your residential address.
Absentee ballots for the November 3" Municipal Elections are available upon request. To request an absentee
ballot, call (772) 226-3440 or go to VotelndianRiver.com. Requests for absentee ballots to be mailed must be
received by the Elections Office no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015. Please note that early
voting will not be available for this election. For comprehensive voting information, please call (772) 226-3440.

The City of Sebastian, Indian River County, Florida, will conduct a general municipal election on Tuesday,
November 3, 2015 for the purpose of electing three (3) City Council members for two year terms.
The official candidate qualifying period is August 20, 2015 through September 4, 2015 in accordance
with the City Charter. City Council Candidate packets are available in the Office of the City Clerk, City
Hall, 1225 Main Street, Sebastian, Florida, M -F 8 am to 4:30 pm and on City website:
www.cityofsebastian.org.
Sebastian precincts and polling places are established by the Supervisor of Elections for Indian River
County. Please contact that office for polling place information by calling 226-3440 or go on-line
www.voteindianriver.com to utilize the precinct finder.
