Beigel, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, in Vero Beach, Florida. He was born on June 2, 1940, in Wiesloch, Germany, to Karl Beigel and Juliana Ritzhaupt. From an early age, Horst developed a strong work ethic, a love for learning, and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship --qualities that would define his life. Horst pursued higher education, including college and advanced trade school training, which laid the foundation for a long and successful career. He worked for more than 35 years with a construction company in the Washington, DC metro area, where he was known for his skill, reliability, and dedication. His hands built not only structures, but also a life rooted in perseverance and pride in honest work. Outside of his career, Horst was a man of many interests. He enjoyed Western movies, carpentry projects, and working with electronics, always curious about how things functioned and how they could be improved. He was an avid collector of VHS tapes, cherished traditional German food, and in his younger years found joy in playing the guitar. Travel also held a special place in his heart, allowing him to explore the world while staying deeply connected to his roots. Horst was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Juliana Beigel; his sister; and his beloved wife of 63 years, Rosemarie Beigel, whose partnership and love were the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his sons, Robert G. Beigel (Myriam) and Gregory C. Beigel (Nataliya), and by his cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Sabrina, Juliana, and Amanda who brought him great pride and joy. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Gunther Kritzler. Horst will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a man who valued family, craftsmanship, and quiet moments of happiness. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the work he completed with care, and the memories held close by those who loved him. She spent many years in Laurel, Maryland, where she built a warm and welcoming home, before relocating to Sebastian, Florida. No matter where she lived, Rosemarie took great pride in her home and found deep joy in caring for those she loved. Creativity was Rosemarie's language of love. She had a lifelong passion for arts and crafts, often sharing that joy with family and friends. Her hands were rarely still, and her creations reflected the care, patience, and thoughtfulness that defined her spirit. She was an active member of the local art club and the German Club in her community where she found friendship, community, and connection to her heritage. Rosemarie was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Kritzler and Emily Minor. She is survived by her devoted husband, Horst K. Beigel; her loving children, Robert G. Beigel (Myriam) and Gregory C. No more than two bouquets of artificial or fresh flowers will be allowed at any gravesite. Artificial flower arrangements will be permitted to remain until they become faded or unsightly. Fresh flowers will remain until unsightly. No glass or ceramic flower containers or ornaments shall be allowed, however, a plastic flower container no more than six inched deep, six inches wide and 24 inches long may remain in place unless broken or in decrepit condition. No wires shall be allowed to hold flower arrangements permanently in place at the interment site. Blankets are allowed to be placed prior to any holiday but must be removed within ten days following the holiday. Initial Sod placement. Sod will be placed after the ground has settled following the burial to ensure a level surface and proper establishment of the grass.
