The undersigned petitioners, citizens of the City of Sebastian. Florida, express our cdnee n
with City of Sebastian Resolution No. R-97-75 dated November 7, 1997 which approves On -
Site Management Group's Conceptual Development Plan for Collier Club Development.
The original plan was to provide access to the Collier Creek Development via Roseland
Road -proposed Collier Club Drive and Main Street-Wimbrow Drive. Within the above cited
Development Plan the Main Street-Wimbrow Drive access has been abandoned and in its
place a second access point (proposed East Collier Club Drive) has been planned to join the
present Golf Course Road and empty extremely heavy traffic (potentially vehicles from 455
homes) into the intersection of East Airport Road. Main and Fleming Streets.
We consider neither of the proposed entrance -exit points acceptable in view of their
expected adverse impact on Sebastian Highlands residential area traffic patterns. A gated
community such as planned should provide traffic flow into an arterial road that is designed
to disperse traffic quickly and efficiently. Roseland Road is the logical choice.
In view of the above we request that appropriate parts of the Site Plan be reconsidered and
that within the Preliminary Approval Phase, entrance and exit be limited to the originally
identified intersection of Roseland Road -Collier Creek Drive. With advice of public safety
personnel, gated emergency entrance -exits could be provided at other location(s) as
deemed necessary to public safety.
