EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER
IT'S A TIE
Gerry Kubes, Administrative Secretary
for the Building Department, was elected
employee of the quarter. She started
working for the City of Seb&stian as a
Clerical Assistant I on September 11, 1989.
Gerry is in charge of issuing building permits which
is a very time consuming job. She also has the
responsibility for helping people at the counter and
answering telephone calls. With all of this, Gerry still
issues the permits in a timely manner.
Gerry is the back-up employee for contractor
licensing and she is also secretary to the Citizen's
Advisory Task Force Board.
She deals well with the public and always wears a
smile. Gerry also has a good working relationship with
her fellow employee's and when time permits, she is
always willing to help others.
Gary Johnson is a Maintenance Worker II in the
Public Works, Road and Drainage Division. He started
working for the City of Sebastian on May 10, 1991 as a
part-time golf course cart attendant. Gary went full-time
on January 30, 1992 as a golf course maintenance II. He
was reassigned to Public Works as a Maintenance Worker
I when the maintenance division at the golf course was
privatized.
For many months Gary was on loan from the Roads
and Drainage Division of Public Works to work in the
City Garage. The work at the garage was extensive and
required the employee to have knowledge of automotive
and diesel mechanics which Gary proved to have.
Gary is reliable and dependable and would tackle any
repair that was assigned to him without hesitation. He is
willing to attempt any job put before him and is open to
communications from his fellow employee's and
supervisor's. Gary always kept the Garage Supervisor
informed on the status of equipment he was working on.
Gary is an asset to the City for his knowledge and his
professional expertise. The quality and excellence of
work performed by Gary helped his fellow employee's to
continue in performing their jobs.
Congratulations to both Gerry and Gary for their
dedication to the City of Sebastian.
