Public Works Department's Terry
Hill is still recuperating from
an accident. We hope to see
him back at work soon.
A pat on the back for Public
Works employee Gary O'Farrell
for trying to help a person who
drove off the Main Street boat
ramp in a car. Gary
unselfishly jumped into the
Indian River to rescue the
person. Thanks for caring,
Gary.
Community Development's Kathy
Nappi has been out for awhile
and we all hope she is getting
better and will soon join her
cohorts at work.

DEFENSIVE DRIVING
The Defensive Driving course is
being offered in 1994 on the
following dates:
Monday, February 29th from 8:30
a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Monday, March 14th from 11:30
a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 24th from 7:00
a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
ALL employees, excluding police
officers, who drive a City
vehicle MUST take this course.
The March 14th date will be
held at the County Road &
Bridge complex, the others will
be held in Vero Beach near the
airport. Contact Jean or Sally
in the City Manager's Office
for additional information.

ON A HEALTH NOTE
Take advantage of the Dental
Preventative Service offered to
all covered employees. The
service includes oral
examinations, dental x-rays,
one (1) set of bite -wings every
(6) six months; a full mouth
series every three (3) years;
fluoride application for
covered dependents under age 15
and prophylaxis (cleanings).
Your preventative dental
service is allowed once every
six months and is covered at
1008 and is not subject to your
$50.00 calendar year
deductible.

hand points west? Well,
there's another one. If you
have a sweetheart, then do
something to celebrate
VALENTINE'S DAY ON MONDAY. If

HOLIDAY
Just a reminder that
President's Day, a paid holiday
for full-time employees, is on
Monday, February 21st. For
most of us that means a nice
long week -end!

NEW CITY MANAGER
The City Council has made a
conditional offer of employment
to Joel Koford, pending
successful completion of a
background check, physical and
drug screening. If all goes
well our new City Manager
should be on board very soon!
SAFETY COMMITTEE
The Safety Committee is
currently reviewing- a draft
copy of a proposed Safety
Manual to be followed by all
employees. The purpose of the
manual is to outline the City's
expectations for Department
Heads, supervisors and
employees regarding safety and
outlines basic safety
procedures. If you would like
to provide input into this
manual, contact your
Department's Safety
Representative by February
18th.
