RAINY SEASON HAS BEGUN...
Be aware of lightning. Any
thunderstorm can produce a
lightning bolt or bolts which
can kill you. Lightning has
often been called the "under
rated killer". Lightning will
normally strike the highest
object in the area of the
discharge and is especially
attracted to metal, a good
conductor of electricity. The
highest object might be, for
example, a tall tree, a boat on
a lake, a metal golf club, a
tall antenna, or maybe even a
person standing on an open
field. Become familiar with
lightning safety rules, it may
save your life.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY...
This is a story about four
people named Everybody,
Somebody, Anybody and Nobody.
There was an important job to
be done and Everybody was sure
that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but
Nobody did it. Somebody got
angry about that, because it
was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought Anybody could
do it, but Nobody realized that
Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody
blamed Somebody when Nobody did
what Anybody could have done!

SAFETY SLOGAN NEEDED
The Safety Committee is looking
for suggestions for the City's
Safety Slogan. The slogan
should be 3 - 5 words long.
Submit your suggestions to
Wendy Widmann no later than
April 8, 1994. Members of the
Safety Committee will determine
the winner at their April 15th
meeting.
The winner of the contest will
receive a $25 gift certificate
to Captain Hiram's restaurant.
SAFETY TIP
Four reasons why on-the-job
accidents happen:
"I was in a hurry."
"I forgot."
"I was distracted."
"It can't happen to me."
Remember you can prevent
accidents on the job. Come to
work alert, remember to use
your safety equipment and
reinforce good safety habits
with your co-workers.
