MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY CHAIRMAN ARTHUR TROWBRIDGE AT 7:00 P.M.
PRESENT: CHAIRMAN ARTHUR TROWBRIDGE, VICE CHAIRMAN DON LIVINGSTON, DONALD
VICKERS, DANIEL MELIA, CARROLL SIMES.
ABSENT: WILLIAM ROUX, HARRY MORRIS, CLAY PRICE.
FINANCIAL REPORT - MR. MELIA POINTED OUT THAT PROJECTED GREENS FEES FOR
DECEMBER WAS $24,000. $14,000. RECEIVED. $10,000. LOW AND ADDED TO THAT
$14,000, LOW IN NOVEMBER. WE'RE MINUS $24,000. ON CART REVENUE WE'RE ABOUT
$4,000. BEHIND ON THE YEAR. SHOULD HOLD DOWN ALL EXPENSES UNTIL WE SEE HOW
NEXT THREE MONTHS GO. CHAIRMAN TROWBRIDGE STATED THAT WE ARE GROSSING FOR
DECEMBER 20% BETTER THAN LAST YEAR. MR. KRAGES WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE EX-
PENDITURE OF ALMOST $1800. FOR REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE, EXPLAINING THAT HE
HAD NOT SEEN ALL THE BILLS SO CHARGED. HE DID KNOW OF $400. FOR BRAKE REPAIRS.
IN THE FUTURE HE WILL MAKE SURE THAT HE O.K.'S ALL BILLS.
THE SECRETARY READ A LETTER FROM MR. ALBERT CHALOUX REGARDING THE COMPULSORY
USE OF CARTS. MR. MELIA REMARKED THAT THE GOLF COURSE IS MANDATED TO MAKE
MONEY AND THE ONLY WAY TO DO THIS IS THROUGH GREENS FEES AND GOLF CARTS.
THT.S RULE WAS HASHED OUT BY THE GOLF COMMITTEE BEFORE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WAS FORMED AND THE BOARD SEES NO REASON TO CHANGE.
CHAIRMAN TROWBRIDGE READ A LETTER FROM MR. LARD RECOMMENDING THAT PETER FLEMING
BE GIVEN A RATE INCREASE OF $.25 PER HOUR. IT HAS ALSO BEEN RECOMMENDED THAT
TOM ROONEY BE MADE A PULL TIME EMPLOYEE, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 27.
MOTION BY MR. MELIA, SECONDED BY MR. LIVINGSTON, TO APPROVE THE FULL TIME EMPLOY-
MENT OF TOM ROONEY AND IMPLEMENTED BY THE CHAIRMAN WITH THE CONSENT OF HARRY
MORRIS. CARRIED.
MOTION BY MR. MELIA, SECONDED BY MR. LIVINGSTON, TO TABLE THE RATE INCREASE
FOR MR. FLEMING UNTIL THE NEXT MEETING. MR. LIVINGSTON WITHDREW HIS SECOND.
MR. MELIA WITHDREW HIS MOTION.
MOTION BY MR. MELIA, SECONDED BY MR. LIVINGSTON, TO APPROVE RATE INCREASE
FOR PETER FLEMING, IMPLEMENTED BY CHAIRMAN TROWBRIDGE, WITH THE CONSENT OF
HARRY MORRIS. CARRIED.
CHAIRMAN TROWBRIDGE REPORTED THAT HE TALKED TO MR. KRAGES ABOUT BRINGING SOME
STONE AROUN15 IN FRONT OF THE CLUB HOUSE AND AROUND THE 1ST AND 10TH TEES.
$800. FOR 20 YARD LOAD. SEEMS TO BE DOING A GOOD JOB WHEREVER IT'S BEEN PUT.
MR. SIMES SUGGESTED USING SHELL AT $6. A be*D11WHAIRMAN TROWBRIDGE APPOINTED
MR. LIVINGSTON, MR. SIMES, AND MR. VICKERS TO LOOK INTO THIS MATTER, WITH INPUT
FROM MR. KRAGES AND MR. MASTELLER, AND REPORT BACK AT THE NEXT MEETING.
CHAIRMAN TROWBRIDGE STATED THAT MR. LADD AND MR. KRAGES HAD SUGGESTED THAT
RYE GRASS BE PLANTED AROUND THE CLUB HOUSE AT A COST OF $200. IT WAS DECIDED
THAT IT IS TOO LATE TO PLANT THE GRASS. IT IS NOT A BUDGETED ITEM AND IS
SOMETHING WE CAN DO WITHOUT.
MR. LIVINGSTON REPORTED THAT A CHIPPING AND TRAPPING GREEN WILL BE READY NEXT
WEEK. WHEN THIS IS COMPLETED OUT OF BOUNDS STAKES WILL BE PLACED ON THE RIGHT
HAND .SIDE OF THE RIGHT FAIRWAY SO THAT 9TH HOLE WILL BE PLAYED AS IT SHOULD BE.
MR. KRAGES STATED THAT THERE WERE A COUPLE OF ITEMS IN HIS BUDGET THAT HE DIDN'T
ANTICIPATE WHICH WILL COST $4.-5000. MAINTENANCE OF THE WATER SYSTEM - $135.
A MONTH TO CHANGE THE CHLORINATOR WATER, PLUS ABOUT $70. A MONTH TO BUY THE
CHLORINE. ALSO, IT WILL TAKE ABOUT 200 GALLONS OF GASOLINE A MONTH TO GAS
UP THE CARTS. ANOTHER ITEM IS $30. A MONTH FOR RUBBISH PICK UP. DUMPSTER
AT CLUB HOUSE. MR. KRAGES TAKES HIS RUBBISH TO THE DUMP. EACH DEPARTMENT
PAYS $30. FOR THE PICK UP.
AROUND THE 1ST OF MARCH MR. KRAGES WOULD LIKE TO FERTILIZE THE GOLF COURSE.
WILL PROBABLY COST ABOUT $3500. THIS IS IN THE BUDGET. IT WILL NOT BE NECESSARY
TO CLOSE THE COURSE. HE ADDED THAT RIGHT NOW THERE IS NOTHING EFFECTIVE TO
GET RID OF MOLE CRICKETS.
MR. MELIA suGGESTED THAT A WORKSHOP MEETING SHOULD BE HELD TO DISCUSS WHETHER
OR NOT THE PRO SHOP AND THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE OPERATION SHOULD BE TURNED INTO
CONCESSIONS. A MEETING WAS SET UP FOR 4:00 P,M. ON FEBRUARY 2.
AFTER A BRIEF DISCUSSION RE THE ~AISING OF FEES, IT WAS DECIDED TO KEEP THEM
AS IS AND CHAIRMAN TROWBRIDGE WILL CHECK INTO RATES CHARGED AT VARIOUS COURSES
IN THE AREA AND REPORT BACK AT THE NEXT MEETING.
