eoft� MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY CHAIRMAN GEORGE SCHUM AT 3:00 P.M.
PRESENT: CHAIRMAN GEORGE SCHUM, HOWARD CARSWELL, DELL CHINN, MARY DE CHAINS.
CHAIRMAN SCHUM ASKED MRS. CHINN IF SHE HAD CHECKED THE SPRINGS ON THE DOORS AND
SHE SAID "NOT YET".
ALSO ASKED ABOUT THE DOOR HANDLE. MR..'CARSWELL STATED NOTHING MORE THAN OLD-
FASHIONED DRESSER HANDLES (AT COMMUNITY CENTER) INSTALLED WITH SPECIAL MOLLY SCREWS.
HE WILL GET BACK TO CHAIRMAN SCHUM IF THIS IS DONE, WHO WILL ADDRESS BILL BEPLER.
PICTURE SHOWN OF HANDLES.
MOTION BY MRS. DE CHAINE AND SECONDED BY MRS. CHINN, TO PLACE 2ND HANDLE IN PICTURE
WHERE NEEDED. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
DIAGRAM OF PLATFORM AND RAMP DOWN TO HANDICAPPED PARKING AT THE YACHT CLUB WAS
SHOWN. THE ADVISABILITY OF STEPS WAS DISCUSSED.
MOTION BY MR. CARSWELL, SECONDED BY MRS. CHINN, TO HAVE A PLATFORM AND RAMP ONLY
WITH RAIL (NO STEPS) IN ACCORDANCE WITH HANDICAPPED SPECIFICATIONS. CARRIED
UNANIMOUSLY.
THE NEXT DISCUSSION WAS ON ENLARGING THE DOORWAYS INTO THE BATHROOMS WITH OUTWARD
SWINGING DOORS AND CHANGING THE FACING HALL WALL BY TAKING OUT A SECTION OF KITCHEN
/9001�- WALL. MR. CARSWELL WENT TO CITY HALL AND GOT THE BLUEPRINTS, THE COMMITTEE IS
IN APPROVAL OF THE BLUEPRINTS WHICH ARE MUCH MORE COMPREHENSIVE THAN THE NOTES
THE ENGINEERS GAVE TO CHAIRMAN SCHUM.
MOTION BY MRS. DE CHAINE, SECONDED BY MRS. CHINN, THAT THE BLUEPRINTS TO MODIFY
THE BUILDING (YACHT CLUB) TO ACCOMMODATE THE HANDICAPPED BE ACCEPTED AND THAT IN
THE FUTURE A MUTUAL WORKING TOGETHER BY THIS COMMITTEE AND THE BUILDING ENGINEERS
EXIST TO BRING ABOUT THESE PLANS. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
