UPE~TE OF YACHT CIAI~ RRNOVATXONS:
It is not feasible to enlarge the Yacht Club so only the restrooms
will be renovated. The City's first priority is to renovate the
Co~unity Center before starting work on the Yacht Club.
4. NEW BUSINESS
John Kanfoush stated that the City of Sebastian has done a
great job of updating their handicapped parking signs and bringing
the~ into compliance and suggested Wendy contact Veto Beach
officials to ~et them to do the same in their city. He also
mentioned that the Police Department will now start issuing
tickets for handicapped parking violations.
Catherine Acker~an mentioned that some of the benches and sidewalks
in Riverview Park have been fixed but wondered when the concrete
runoff for the wheelchairs would be completed. Phillip stated
that there are drop offs along the sidewalks in the park that
are dangerous for people in wheelchairs and wondered what could
be done about it.
Catherine said she was going to write a letter to the City
Council regarding putting a pay phone in Riverview Park.
Discussion followed.
Suggestions for new projects were requested. It was decided that
if the public had a question or complaint Wendy shouldbe the
first one contacted and then referred to the co~ittee for follow-up
if ~e~ted. Catherine noted that the men's restroom in the dining
area of Hurricane Harbor was not accessible and John wondered how
we could approach the subject.
