HomeMy WebLinkAbout02061990 POPTMINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SEBASTIAN POLICE OFFICERS' RETIREMENT TRUST FUND HELD TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 1~0 IN THE CITY MANAGER'S CONFERENCE ROOM. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Reynolds at 10:07 A.M. Present were Carol Carswell, Gregory Gore, David Puscher and Charles Reynolds. A motion was made by Gregory Gore and seconded by David Puscher to approve the Minutes as submitted. Motion carried. The Treasurer's report was submitted. report was filed for audit. After discussion, the Under old business Chairman Reynolds spoke about the Trustees' meeting in Tallahassee on March 20 and 21. He stated that it would be worthwhile for as many of the Trustees to attend as possible. David Puscher was appointed as a Committee of one to find out more about the meeting. NEW BUSINESS - There was a discussion on setting a time to allow money managers to make presentations to the Board. There are five firms who haye expressed interest in giving presentations. Gregory Gore made a motion, seconded by Carol Carswell to set up two days to hear proposals on money management --One day for the three from Brokerage Houses and the other day for the two Banks. Motion carried. The individuals would be set up at 15 minute intervals. Tuesday, February 2? starting at 10 A.M. and Thursday~ March 1 starting at 10 A.M. were set as the days subject to the Trustees checking their calendars. Gregory Gore would take care of inviting the people from the Brokerage Houses and Carol Carswell would take care of the Banks. Gregory Gore gave the forms for designation of beneficiary to Chief Reynolds for distribution to the members. Carol Carswell stated that the amendment to the Plan making it a Chapter Plan had been sent to Marvin Clayton. The City's audit firm would prepare the paperwork for submission of the Plan to the IRS. There was a discussion about the tax consequences of the 185 Plan to the individual members and how it was reported on their W-2s. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:45 A .M.
