Present at this meeting are Judi Robinson, Eugene Ewert, Gregory Gore, Lawrence Hardison and Marjode Poole. Motion was made to approve the minutes of the previous meeting by E. Ewert and seconded by Judi Robinson. Motion carried. The Treasurer's report was made and copies of the Annual Report were requested for each board member. Discussion followed regarding the report by Key Trust for FYE 9-30-93. Under Old Business: Chairman Gore reported on his written inquiry to the State for a breakdown of the revenue amounts collected by the insurance companies and forwarded to the State for the City of Sebastian Police Officers' Pension Trust. Chairman Gore has also read copies of the letters of thanks sent to former Board member Chief Petty and Capt. David Puscher. A discussion followed regarding casualty premium tax and how disbursement is determined by the State of Florida. Also brought to discussion was the interest paid by the City of the premium tax collected and not transferred by the City to the Sebastian Police Officers' Pension Trust in a timely manner. Motion made by Gregory Gore and seconded by E. Ewert to have Judi & Marge check on the discrepancies of amount received from City and to write City concerning these discrepancies. Motion passed by unanimous vote. New Business: Gary McCarthy claim for disability. Since the Board does not have any forms for a member of Sebastian Officers' Pension Trust to claim benefits, a discussion arose as to what would be required on the part of any claimant. A memorandum received from the Department of Management Services, Division of Retirement suggest the officer write the Board a letter requesting the retirement, stating the reason and attach a doctor's statement. If the board elects, "Serving Those Who Have Served Us." they may choose a physician or surgeon to examine the o~cer. If his disability is determined, the provisions os s185.18(5), F.S. shall apply. A motion was made by Lawrence Hardison that E. Ewert obtain disability claim form from Veto Beach Police Department Board and when forms are received, forward to Gary McCarthy by the Secretary of the Board. Motion seconded by G. Gore. Motion for a ten minute recess was made by G. Gore and seconded by J. Robinson. Motion passed. Recess in meeting from 11:10 AM and resumed at 11:20 AM. All members returned to meeting after the recess. Discussion on the above motion. A motion was made by Eugene Ewert that when Mr. McCarthy receives a form from the Board he returns the form and any required materials to the Board in a timely manner; at which time the Board contacts the City Attorney. Motion seconded by G. Gore. Discussion followed. A motion was made by Judi Robinson to have a meeting to review forms. Motion seconded by Marjorie Poole. Motion passed by unanimous vote. Chairman's Matters: Congratulated board on the job they are doing. Co-Chairman Matters: E. Ewert said the discussion in the meeting covered anything he was going to bring up for discussion. Trustee Matters: Set up a calendar for future meetings to meet requirements of Statute regarding meeting each quarter. Future scheduled meetings are to be held the end of May and the second week in September. Motion to adopt the tentative calendar made by Gregory Gore and seconded by Marjorie Poole. Motion passed by unanimous vote. Motion to adjourn was made by Gregory Gore at 11:45 AM. Motion seconded by Lawrence Harrison. Motion passed by unanimous vote.
