CHAIRWOMAN KINCHEN GAVE PRICES FOR BACKSTOPS AS FOLLOWS~ CHAIN
LINK APPROXIMATELY $3000.00 AND NTLON NET, 9' X 10', $2'69-.00.
MOTION BY NATE MCCOLLUM, SECONDED BY GEORGE SCHUM, TO RECOMMEND
TO CITY COUNCIL THE PURCHASE OF FOUR..NYLON NETS IN THE AIt0UNT OF
$1076..0'0 FOR THE SCHUMANN FIELD RACQUETBALL COURT BACKSTOP.

RECREATION DISCUSSED THE LEASE AS A~ENDED AT THE APRIL "13, 1987,
SPECIAL PARKS AND RECREATION MEETING.
A LENGTHY DISCUSSION TOOK PLACE ON FINDING CITY PROPERTY FOR THE
LITTLE LEAGUE AND WHAT FUNDS ARE SPENT ON THE YOUTH OF' SEBASTIAN.
VICE CHAIRMAN HOOSE LEFT THE MEETING AT 7.'50 P.M.
MOTION BY NATE MCCOLLUM, SECONDED BY LONNIE POWELL, TO LOOK INTO
ANY AVAILABLE PROPERTIES OF 3 TO 5 ACRES AND BRING BACK TO THE
NEXT PAP~KS AND RECREATION MEETING.
ROLL CALL ON THE MOTION CARRIED UNANI#OUSLY.
IN ADDITION TO ITEMS PREVIOUSLY AMENDED AT THE SPECIAL MEETING,
ITEM '$4 OF THE LEASE WAS AMENDED TO' INCLUDE "EXCLUDING' 'SOFTBALL"
AFTER THE FIRST SENTENCE.
MOTION BY LONNIE POWELL, SECONDED BY DAVID UNDERILL, ~TO RECOMMEND
APPROVAL OF THE LITTLE LEAGUE LEASE AS AMENDED. (SEE ATTACHED)

CHAIRWOMAN KINCHEN SAID WORK HAD BEGUN ON THE YACHT CLUB ~ANDICAP
RAMP.
SHE ALSO SAID THAT A RF. QUEST HAD BEEN MADE BY MASH HOAGIES FOR
THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITT.EE~'..-T0 SET UP A TABLE AT RIVERWALK
SHOPPING CENTER AND PROMOTE YOUTH .PROGRAMS ON MAY 16, 1987, AND
IF SO TO CONTACT CONNIE NOVAK.

DAVID UNDERILL SAID THERE STILL WAS NO SIGN AT THE FITNESS TRAIL
THANKING THE CIVIC ASSOCIATION POR THEIR DONATION OF $3000.00.
NONE.
CHAIRWO~AN KINCHEN REQUESTED THAT THE NCR REQUEST FOR HORSESHOES
BE POSTPONED AND THAT THE COF~qITEE DISCUSS NCR PROGRAMS AT THE
COMMUNITY'CENTER.
LEROY HIRES EXPLAINED TO THE COMMITTEE THE FUNDS THAT. ARE PUT
INTO THE CITY BY THE NCR. HE SAID APPROXIMATELY $56,000.00'WAS
PUT INTO PROGRAMS SINCE 1985.
A~TER A LENGTHY DISCUSSION THE FOLLOWING MOTION WAS MADE~
MOTION BY IRENE TRAFICANTE, SECONDED BY GEORGE SCHUM, THAT DUE TO
FINANCIAL SUPPORTS AND BENEFITS RECEIVED FROH THE NORTH COUNTY
RECREATION COMMITTEE THAT THEY BE ALLOWED TO USE THE COMMUNITY
CENTER AT NO CHARGE.
DISCUSSION TOOK, PLACE ON REQUESTING $2000.00 FROM THE NCR POR THE
FITNESS TRAIL.
ROLL CALL ON THE MOTION CARRIED--UANIMOUSLY.
MOTION BY GEORGE SCHUM, SECONDED BY DAVID UNDERILL, TO SEmi) A
WRITT~ REQUEST TO THE NORTH COUNTY RECREATION COMMITTEE FOR

CHAIRWOMAN KINCHEN REQUESTED THAT THE NCR NOT DUPLICATE THE
SEBASTIAN RECREATION PROGRAMS. LEROY HIRES SAID THAT IF A LIST
OF PROGRAMS IS PRESENTED TO THE NCR AT THEIR NEXT MENTING THE
PROGRAMS WOULD NOT BE DUPLICATED.
AT THIS TIME THE ARCHERY AND HORSESHOE COURTS WERE DIS.CU~IiSBD.
