5. OLD BUSINESS
A. Location of Museum
Mr. Newland stated there is a problem getting the Museum moved down from Connecticut
and finding a facility to put them in down here.
Mr. Peeler talked to Marilyn Dube, she is going to Connecticut this month to find out exactly
what pieces are up there. Mr. Peeler said he has a friend who owns a truck that may be
able to store the pieces.
The Board would like to keep this item on the next agenda.
Mr. Newland shared information from the presentation made by the ladies organizing the
Wreaths Across America (WAA) Project in Sebastian. He said the Honor Guard has
agreed to support the December wreath laying.
The City Manager stated that he also had a meeting with the ladies from the WAA project.
He is not sure what obligation the City would have with the project. He said a contract
would have to be signed to obligate the City. He is not sure he is willing to recommend the
project to Council yet until the full impact is known. The ladies were given an option to do
the ceremony at the Veteran's Memorial on that date and they did not find that acceptable.
The City Manager said there are a number of ceremonies throughout the year at the
Veteran's Memorial and the city has the ability to handle a number people there with
parking and access. The City manager told the Board that he wants to make sure the city
does not take on an obligation they will not be able to fulfill.
The Board would like to keep this item on the next Agenda.
