Skok'- Project Coordinator DATE: April 2, 1996 SUBJECT: Recommended Course of Action Based on Quotes Received for the Airport Road West Access On Monday, March 25, I contacted three local grading contractors to get quotes for clearing an access to Mr. Brian Barry's leased property at the airport. The contractors notified were: L.I. Tree Service Inc., Henry Fischer & Sons Leasing, Inc., and Faulkner & Sons, Inc. On Tue=.day, March 26, Paul Trodglen of Cathco.. Inc. stopped in the off.ce and mentioned he was interested in giving a quote also. Donnie Foxwell also mentioned he was interested in giving a quote. Of the five contractors notified, only three, L.I. Tree Service, Inc., Henry Fischer & Sons Leasing, Inc., and Foxwell Grading & Landclearing responded in furnishing quotes for the proposed work. The work entailed clearing a 20' wide path by approximately 1080' in length. I told each contractor to give a quote two ways. The first price was for falling all trees and pushing them aside. The second price was for falling all trees and hauling them off the site. The quotes received were as follows: CLEAR AREA AND LEAVE ON SITE HENRY FISCHER & SOi:1S LEASING, INC. $ 700.00 L.I. The removal of cleared debris can be included in the contract for the overall road project. The contractors bidding the overall project will be notified of this change at the Pre -Bid Meeting this afternoon at 1:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers.
