SUBJECT: Inspection of Potholes at the Airport
Mr. Koford told me that since you are presently inspecting the
pavement on the runways each day for formation of potholes, he
would like you to buy an "amber" light, the type that plugs into
the cigarette lighter of any vehicle. This way, the amber light
could be plugged into any vehicle you take to inspect the airport.
Also, he wanted me to.remind you that there are airport runway
inspection forms which you are to turn in to him on a daily basis.
Please keep a file of these inspection forms in the Admin/Eng
office.

SUBJECT: Airport Road West
-----------------------------------------------------------------
City Manager Joel Koford informed me at 10:00 AM that he has been
receiving complaints on the poor condition of Airport Road west
surface due to the heavy rains our area experienced last week.
Please schedule to have this road graded as soon as possible and
inform me as to when it will be done.

SUBJECT: Sebastian Municipal Airport Maintenance Items
---------------------------------------------------------------
In reference to your memo of November 28, 1995 regarding the above
subject, your items are addressed as follows:
a) Our Roads & Drainage Division plans on scraping away all of
the weeds growing on the runways with Unit No. 11 after
January 1, 1996. Once this is done, the weeds will be
sprayed with Round -Up or other defoliate to kill the portion
of the weeds below the pavement surface.
b) The immediate areas around the runway lights were mowed in
the latter part of November.
c) Depressions are monitored on a daily basis during our routine
daily inspection.
d) The damage to the lighted wind tee was completed on December
61'1995.
e) The stockpiles of sand situated close to the runways have
been relocated.
At this time, I would suggest that all of the runway lights be
rewired to contain all wiring connections inside weatherproof
junction boxes and that 2' x 21 x 3" thick concrete pads be
constructed around each light post. This will prevent weeds from
growing up around the lights and make mowing operations easier at
the airport. We would solicit quotes from at least three
electricians and masonry contractors to do the work with your
approval.

SUBJECT: Airport Sweeping
The City Manager, Mr. Frame has instructed me to have the
Airport runways and taxiways swept using the Road and Drainage
Broom Tractor.
After comparing our options he feels this is the most cost
effective way of cleaning the Airport.
