Recreation Advisory Committee
August 17, 1998 7:00 PM Minutes
Vice Chairman Diamond called the meeting to Order.
Roll Call: the following members were present:
Maura Raborn - Sebastian Panthers, Inc.
Virginia Nichols - Friendly Tennis Group
Marjorie Schaub - Sebastian River Art Club
Nancy Diamond - Indian River County Parks and Recreation Liaison
Carol McConnell - Citizen -at -Large,
Larry Vickers, Alternate sitting in for Mr.Richter
Robert Bates - Craft Club of Sebastian, absent excused
Clifford Moss, Sebastian Old Boys, absent excused
Cory Richter - Sebastian Soccer Association, Inc, absent excused
Randy Snyder - Sebastian River Area Little League, Inc., absent
Staff members present were Chris McCarthy, Parks Supervisor and Linda Kinchen, Recording Secretary.
Approval of Minutes July 20, 1998 - Motion to approve as written by Mrs McConnel second Mrs. Raborn
passed unanimously.
Old Business: None - Mr. Vickers asked Chris what happened at Grant Meeting - Chris explained approved
by City Council and sent to Grantor - They will approve and send back - Chris states grant will go ahead
when approved. Chris stated he and Tom will go to Palm Bay to check noise. Mrs. McConnel stated she
was in Palm Bay last night and it was not noisy at all.
New Business: None
Public Input: None
Members Matters: Mr. Vickers would like Robert Johnson to come to a meeting to speak to the committee
about grants. Chris said Mr. Frame is working on grants. Mrs. Raborn stated the Panthers have a jamboree
this weekend at 7AM and everyone should come.
Staff Comments: None
Motion to adjourn by Mrs. Schaub second Mrs. McConnell passed unanimously.
