Recreation Advisory Committee
December 21, 1998 7:00 PM Minutes
Vice -Chairman Diamond called the meeting to Order.
Roll Call:
the following members were present:
Maura Rabom - Sebastian Panthers, Inc. absent excused
Virginia Nichols - Friendly Tennis Group
Marjorie Schaub - Sebastian River Art Club,
Nancy Diamond - Indian River County Parks and Recreation Liaison
Carol McConnell - Citizen-at-Large,
Larry Vickers, Alternate - absent
Robert Bates - Craft Club of Sebastian, absent excused
Clifford Moss, Sebastian Old Boys,
Cory Richter - Sebastian Soccer Association, Inc, absent excused
Randy Snyder - Sebastian River Area Little League, Inc., absent
Nancy Pfister - Alternate voting for Mrs Raborn
Staff members present were Linda Kinchen, Recording Secretary and Chris McCarthy, Parks and
Recreation Supervisor and Martha Campbell, City Engineer.
Approval of Minutes November 16, 1998 - Motion to approve as written by Mrs Schaub second Mrs.
McCormell passed unanimously.
Old Business: None
New Business: FRDAP Grant Discussion - Martha Campbell, City Engineer gives a brief synopsis of the
grant contract and the changes that are required. She stated that the City Manager needs to write a letter
changing the storm shelter to a pavilion but the City Council wanted the Recreation Committee to be made
aware of the change and give their approval.
A motion to ask the City Manager to send the necessary letter to the DEP to was made by Mrs. McConnell
second Mrs. Schaub passed unanimously.
Discussion regarding the removal of Randall Snyder from the board was held and based on the fact that he
has not been present at any meetings in the last year the following motion was made.
A motion to recommend to City Council to remove Mr. Snyder from the board and advertise for his
replacement from the Little League made by Mrs. McConnell second Mrs. Schaub passed unanimously.

A motion to adjourn at 7:15 PM was made by Mrs. Schaub second Mrs. Pfister passed unanimously
Approved as written at the January 18, 1999 meeting.
