UTILITIES, DESIGN CONCEPTS AND FUNDING WERE OTHER TOPICS OF DISCUSSION AS THE COMMITTEE MADE ITS WAY UP AND DOWN THE RIVER. IDENTIFYING WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT AND TRYING TO CREATE IT IS SOMETHING THAT ALL AGREED NEEDED TO TAKE PLACE. FUNDING HOWEVER, SEEMED TO BE A VERY IMPORTANT MATTER. PARK AREAS CREATED BY THE CITY WAS AN IMPORTANT POINT AS WELL. MR. CALVIN FELT THE BIKE PATH NEEDED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. THE NEED TO DEVELOP IMPORTANT ACCESS POINTS WHERE INDIAN RIVER DRIVE MEETS US HIGHWAY #1 AT BOTH THE NORTH AND SOUTH ENDS AND THE IMPACT OF COUNTY ROAD 512 WHERE IT MEETS US #1 WAS ALSO A CONCERN, INDIAN RIVER DRIVE AND MAIN STREET WAS DISCUSSED AS A FOCAL POINT OF THE DISTRICT AND WOULD REQUIRE SPECIAL TREATMENT. MR. COLLINS FELT THAT THEY NEEDED TO CREATE SOMETHING THAT BRINGS MORE THEN JUST LOCAL PEOPLE STATING HE WAS LEANING TOWARD OLD WILLIAMSBURG WITH A TOUCH OF KEY WEST ATMOSPHERE.
