Anne Dann gave a report for April. She noted that the School is doing a good job of
watering the seedlings, but weeding needs to be kept up, and some pots need emptying
as a few plants have died. It was also determined that it is time to fertilize again, and
Chris agreed to supply it.
Chmn. Cardinale noted that George Anderson from the' High School is going to supply
this Board with a key to gain entry to the shade house since the hole in the fence has
been repaired. It was determined that the key will be kept by the "Board member
volunteer of the month~.

TREE ADVISORY BOARD
MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF MAY 1, 2000
STAFF MATTERS:
Chds McCarthy noted that the Flodda Pdvet and Paurotis Palm plants have not arrived
yet, but all other plants are present. He also noted that instead of 7-gal. size Dahoon
Hollies, a 3-gal. size was obtained, and one Simpson Stopper is a 10-gal. instead of a
7-gal. size.
Mr. Moore complimented the Board on the Model Planting project. He also commented
on the transportability of the plants and the fact that no sod is being installed. He then
spoke of a possibility of building expansion between the Council Chambers and the
Building Department in the future. These issues were discussed.
Chmn. Cardinale suggested that Kathy Fulton and Lynn Albury get in touch with the
Schools about Arbor Day before the end of this school year. Lynn indicated that a
teacher at Pelican Island Elementary is very interested in this project.
Mr. Clay Fielding invited Tree Board members to a rose show in Vero Beach at the main
Library, from 1 to 4 pm on May 13th and 14th.
Chmn. Cardinale adjourned the meeting at 6:08 pm, and the Board members went
outside to place the potted plants in the locations that were planned. The Recording
Secretary joined them, and they finished the job at 7:30 pm. Chris McCarthy was also
present, along with Clay Fielding, an ex-member of the Tree Board.
