City Council, at their mcmtin& of 8/13/97, unanimously appointnd
William Brognano as altmatate member and also acceptnd the resignation
of regular member David Cox.
OLD BUSINESS:
Native Tree List- Approve revised short form for distribution to local
nurseries and new residents. Short list of ground covers to be included.
List to be forwarded to city Council for approval.
NEW BUSINESS:
1) Interview applicants for the adaerf/sed, unexpired, regular member
position, to recommend to City Council.
2) Select chairman for Arbor day Committee 1,998.
3) Work Plan for Fl' 9798 - Review plan and forward to City Council for
approval.

would have to resign from the Tr~e Advisory Board in order to remain on the Planning and Zoning
if the Ordinance is approved.

PLAN FOR FY 97-98 - REVIEW PLAN AND FORWARD TO CITY..COUNCIL

Colkelly refe~ed to a copy of a proposed work plan for FY 97-98, and noted that the
Ceremony is a mquireme~ of tho Tree City USA program.

Ms. Broda mentioneA the Florida Urban Forestry Council a~enda and noted that it is to be at
Indian River Plantation on Hutchinson Island ami .suggested it would be good staff training, or
interesting to Tree Advisory Board members. Chprsn. Kilkelly noted that, after tonight's meeting,
it would be available in the Building Department at Dawn's desk,
~TAFF MATTERS:
Mr. Hass noted that Contractors and Developers will be invited to next month's regular meeting
(October) to discuss their issues concerning landscaping and tree ordinances.
Chprson. Kilkelly reminded member~ that there will be a workshop on September 22 to work on
the Tree Ordinance, at 5:30 P.M., and the next regular meeting is October, 6 at which time the
Conuactors and Developers will be present.
Chris McCarthy noted that he will be on vacation at tho time of the September 22 workshop
meeting, lie also noted that Pelican Island Garden Club plant~ some more tre~ at Barber Str~
and Dominican T~ace, including more native tree spies.
