The new scoreboards will replace four baseball and one football scoreboard. Staff obtained three price quotes and two of the three quotes are bid awards. Staff recommends purchasing the scoreboards to the low bid from Electro-Mech Scoreboard Company from Wrightsville, Georgia for $19,662.00. This pricing is from Pinellas County School Bid # 07-805- 529-RN. Electro- Mech is a reputable company that has provided scoreboards to many sports fields throughout the country. Some of the differences in the two low bids include: Electro Mech is factory direct and Nevco goes through a sales representative, Electro Mech receivers are already built into scoreboards and Nevco charges extra and Electro Mech discount from their bid is $2,177 more than N evco. Both companies offer a five-year warranty on their products. RECOMMENDED ACTION Move to waive formal bidding procedure and purchase four Model # 1030 Baseball scoreboards and one Model # 3260 Football scoreboard from Electro Mech Scoreboard in Wrightsville, Georgia for a total of$19,662.00.
