Re: Offering of lot next to Ballfield for purchase by
the City
Dear Mr. Palmer:
I came before the City Council workshop meeting last night at
the recommendation of the Parks and Recreation Committee.
Daniel Fuller (a co-owner in the lot) previously met with the
committee several weeks earlier.
This is all in response to a letter (attached) written over a
year ago soliciting the purchase of this lot by the City. Thus
the City has previously expressed an interest in buying this
lot. Please let this letter serve as a formal offer to sell
the lot to the City for the price of $4,500 with the sellers
paying for title insurance and the City paying for any other
closing costs of the sale.
The legal description of the lot is Lot 5, Block 208, Sebastian
Highlands Unit 10 Plat Book 6, Page 710, Public Records indian
River County, Florida. The lot is owned jointly by four indi-
viduals, three of which have a Florida Real Estate License.
As you know the City purchased lot 1 last year for $4,500. We
have been told that the City has interest in acquiring most of
the lots adjacent to the ballfield to allow for expansion,
parking, and more efficient use. Please find enclosed some
other recent sales of lots in the area that indicate that
$4,500 is a fair price.
Because the City has expressed an interest in this lot, we
would like to sell it to the City if it is their pleasure.
However, we have been trying to get an answer regarding acceptance
of our offer to sell for many months. Because we wish to sell
the lot to the public if the City is not interested, we would
appreciate your attention to bringing this matter before the
City for a formal decision at your earliest convenience.
