McClary BE: Barber Street Sports Complex Property Pursuant to the discussion held at the January 4, 1989 workshop Meeting, I recommend that the purchase of Lot 6, Block 208, Unit 10, Sebastian Highlands in the amount of $4,500, adjacent to the Barber Street Sports Complex be purchased with funds from the Capital Improvement Fund rather that the Capital Projects Fund. Therefore, the purchase of this real estate would be charged to the park facility improvements account within the Capital Improvement Fund. Although this may overexpend this one line item within the fund, I feel a budget amendment would not need to be prepared at this time. If an amendment becomes necessary, we have sufficient unappropriated fund balances to provide for this purchase. It is therefore my recommendation and request that the City Council ratify the purchase contract for the purchase of Lot 6, Block 208, Unit 10, Rosebush Terrace, Sebastian Highlands, in the amount of $4,500.00 and that said purchase be charged to the park facilities improvement line item within the Capital Improvement Budget. /jmt 8�,1 z9 City of Sebastian POST OFFICE BOX 780127 ❑ SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA 32978 TELEPHONE (407) 589-5330 CONFIDENTIAL MEMORANDUM DATE: December 8, 1988 TO: Richard B. McClary� RE: Barber Street Sports Complex Property For your information attached is a photo copy of a letter to VMC Realty, Inc. making an offer on one of the few remaining lots adjacent to the northern boundary of the Barber Street Sports Complex Property. State law mandates the confidentiality of this information until such time as the real estate transaction is completed. We are offering $4,000.00 for this real property. I point out that the offer is conditioned upon review, approval, and authorization of the City Council. The offer of $4,000.00 may not be accepted by the seller. I feel that we should look at any reasonable counter offer. They advised me that the $40,000.00 is allocated through the MSTU and budgeted as follows: Senior Field Fencing and Dugout $ 8,500.00 Sprinkler System 4,000.00 Sod 9,000.00 Lights 18,500.00 Total $40,000.00 These gentlemen also advise me that these funds would be available on a reimbursable basis with the City incurring the expense and certifying those expenses within the County budget for reimbursement from the County to the City.
