Five nights of unusual-
ly cold temperatures are
nally giving way to
warmer days.
By Monday, the after-
noon high should be 80
degrees, according to Na-
tional Weather Service
meteorologists.
Between then and
now, daily highs should
rise to the mid-70s, under
mostly sunny, dry skies.
The warmup begins
early Friday's when the
low will be in the upper
40s, about 8 to 10 degrees
above Thursday's pre-
dawn low. Day by day,
temperatures are to pro-
gressively rise to a morn-
ing low of 60 early Sun-
day morning.
The next cold front will
be weak one that will dip
Wednesday's high to the
mid-70s — far above
what has happened this
week in the wake of the
arrival of a strong, endur-
ing northern cold front.
During early morning
hours this week, temper-
atures dropped to 15 de-
grees below normal. Fort
Pierce's low of 39 on Sun-
day was 17.2 degrees be-
low normal.
They were not records,
however, according to the
Weather Service.
The main aect has
been people having to
bundle up. Only early
Thursday was there any
possibility of frost and
that was far inland in St.
Lucie and Indian River
counties.
80-degree days comingback after weekend
