MAHONEY' MR. ABSENT; MR. THOMPSON ALSO PRESENT; SECRETARY' LINDA KINCHEN ANNOUNCEMENTS; TIME LIMIT WAS SET FOR THE MEETING OF 9:00 P.M. DUE TO SEVERAL MEMBERS HAVING TO LEAVE EARLY. NEW BUSINESS.: CHAIRMAN ASKS MEMBERS WHAT TOPICS THEY WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS AT THE MEETING. MR. WADSWORTH; POROUS PARKING, RAILROAD CROSSINGS AND INDIAN RIVER SHORELINES, HOME OCCUPATIONAL LICENSES. MR. FULLERTON; INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT RECLASSIFIED TO LIGHT, MEDIUM AND HEAVY. AND GRANDFATHER CLAUSE ON PAGE 591. MR. EISENBARTH; FELT THE SUBJECTS ALREADY MENTIONED WERE A GOOD START. MR. MAHONEY; FELT THE SUBJECTS ALREADY MENTIONED WOULD SATISFY HIM. MRS POROUS PARKING WAS HER SUGGESTION MR. WADSWORTH BEGINS WITH HIS FEELING ON POROUS PARKING STATES HE FEELS IT SHOULD BE ALLOWED WEST OF US HIGHWAY #1 WITH GUIDELINES AS TO THE TYPE OF BUSINESS OR ORGANIZATION ALLOWED TO UTILIZE IT. MR. FULLERTON STATES HE FEELS THE INDUSTRIAL ZONING SHOULD BE LOOKED AT AND CLASSIFIED IN LIGHT, MEDIUM OR HEAVY ZONINGS WITH NO SALES CONSIDERATION IN WAREHOUSING. MR. EIGENBARTH STATES THE MAP WOULD THEN HAVE TO BE REVISED AS WELL TO INDICATE THE ZONINGS. MRS TAYLOR SAYS WE DON'T NEED MORE INDUSTRY THAT 90% ARE SENIOR CITIZENS MR. WADSWORTH STATES THAT INDUSTRIAL ZONED PROPERTY RUNS $30'000 TO $40'000 AN ACRE, HE SAYS IT IS PURCHASED SO THE OWNER CAN DO ANYTHING HE WANTS SAYS HOW CAN WE ATTRACT NEW PEOPLE AND BUSINESS IF WE LIMIT THE USES IN INDUSTRIAL. AND IF WE DO BREAK IT DOWN TO LIGHT, MEDIUM AND HEAVY WHERE ARE WE GOING TO PUT IT. DOCTOR FISCHER STATES THE 512 ZONED COMMERCIAL IN THE FIRST GOOD TO HAVE THE ENTRANCE WAY BUILDINGS. INDUSTRIAL SHOULD HAVE BEEN PLACE BECAUSE IT DOESN'T LOOK OF 512 WITH ALL INDUSTRIAL MR. TIM SMITH FROM THE AUDIENCE, STATED WE DO NOT HAVE ANYWHERE TO PUT ALL THIS INDUSTRIAL. MR. WADSWORTH BRINGS UP THE RAILROAD CROSSINGS SAYS THE CITY NEEDS TO ADDRESS CROSSINGS FOR FUTURE USES. HE STATES SWAPIN8 ONE FOR ANOTHER IS NOT GOOD AND WE ARE GOING TO NEED MORE AS TIME GOES ON NOT CLOSING ONE FOR ONE SOMEWHERE ELSE. MR. MAHONEY SAYS POSSIBLY OVERPASSES WILL HAVE TO BE LOOKED AT. MR. VALLONE FROM THE AUDIENCE FEELS OVERPASSES MAY BE THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE AS THE EAST COAST RAILROAD IS HARD TO DEAL WITH. HE INDICATES THAT FEBRUARY 18TH AT 2 PM THERE IS A MEETING REGARDING THE REALIGNMENT OF US HIGHWAY l AND THIS WILL PROBABLY BE DISCUSSED THERE. MR. WADSWORTH INDICATE.'-=# THAT ALL WE HAVE ARE THE INDIAN RIVER SHORELINES AND WE NEED TO PROTECT IT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. AND ESTABLISH SET BACK LINES TO PROTECT THE RIVER. MR. WADSWORTH FEELS WE SHOULD HAVE A GET BACK STARTING FROM THE MEAN HIGH WATER MARK. IT WAS BROUGHT UP THAT GMC AND MCR ARE THE ONLY TWO ZONINGS ALLOWED ON THE RIVER SIDE OF INDIAN RIVER DRIVE. MR. VALLONE FEELS THAT THE 50 FOOT SETBACK SHOULD BE RE - ENFORCED AS OUR SHORELINES ARE WASHING AWAY EVERY DAY. DOCTOR FISCHER SAYS RIVER DRIVE BETWEEN MELBOURNE AND VERO BEACH IS VERY STABLE AND BACKFILLING ALONG THE SHORELINES SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED. FULLERTON SAYS HE FEELS THAT THE GRANDFATHER CLAUSE ON PAGE 591 SHOULD BE REVISED HE FEELS IT IS VERY HARD TO DETERMINE WHO IS GRANDFATHERED AND WHO IS NOT. MR. WADSWORTH SAYS HE FEELS HOME OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE FEES SHOULD BE INCREASED MR. KRULIKOWSKI FEELS THEY SHOULD BE DISCONTINUED ALTOGETHER. MR., VALLONE ALSO AGREES THAT 'THEY SHOULD BE DISCONTINUED. DOC FISCHER INDICATES HE FEELS THEY SHOULD GO TO COMMERCIAL SPACE FOR RENT. WITH CONSTRUCTION WHAT IT IS THERE IS PLENTY AVAILABLE NOT LIKE IN THE PAST WHERE THERE MAY NOT HAVE BEEN MUCH AVAILABLE. MR. WADSWORTH SAYS LICENSE FEES SHOULD BE INCREASED FOR EVERY LICENSE IN THE CITY AND HOME OCCUPATIONAL LICENSES SHOULD BE PHASED OUT. MR. VALLONE STATES THE COMMITTEE SHOULD WRITE TO THE CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL IF THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH HOME OCCUPATIONS MR. WADSWORTH GIVES HIM AN EXPLANATION OF THE PROBLEMS THEY HAVE BEEN HAVING ALONG THOSE LINES. CHAIRMAN KRULIKOW8KI INDICATES THAT THESE ITEMS WILL BE DISCUSSED AGAIN AT THE NEXT MEETING AND THE MEMBERS SHOULD GET THEIR THOUGHTS TOGETHER FOR INPUT AT THAT MEETING. THE NEXT MEETING IS SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 9TH AT 7 P.M. CHAIRMAN ASKS SECRETARY TO TRY TO OBTAINING POROUS PARKING REQUIREMENTS FROM MELBOURNE AND INDIAN RIVER COUNTY. MEETING ADJOURNED AT 8|50 P.M. L.
