REVIEW OF COMPREUENSIVE PLAN CONTINUED, CHAPTER ONE - LAND USE
Mr. Cooper informed the Board that he spoke to Mr. Les Solin today
and discovered that the State will be funding Comprehensive Plan
reviews. Approximately over $20,000 can be received by the City
for this process.~ Mr. Cooper suggested a change of plans for the
Commission in their review of the Plan. A consultant could be
hired through thelregular process by City Council. As seen by the
last Comp. Planl review meeting, most of the changes were
information and tables upgraded. The consultant would do most of
this work and then present a proposed Co~. Plan to the Commission
for their review early next year. ~ASTtANZON~NG&

SPECIAL MEETING OF JULY 17. 1995
Mr. Fischer askedif the City had to apply for this funding? Mr.
Cooper stated no,.it was automatic, not a grant. Mr. Fischer asked
if, Planning and~ Zoning should recommend to City Council to
.advertise for a cOnsultant? Mr. Cooper stated yes, unless the City
Attorney and City.Council agreed Mr. Solin should be hired since he
was the original author of the Comp. Plan.
Mr. Barnes asked when the money would be available? Mr. Cooper
thought probably at the beginning of the fiscal year.
Mr. Goldstein agreed staff should pursue this funding and the
hiring of Mr. Solin. He would also like to see the comments from
the Planning and Zoning meeting of 6/7/95 given to the consultant.
Chmn. Thompson m~de a motion to defer any further review of the
Comp. Plan and that Mr. Cooper continue his investigation into
receiving funding from the State for the review, and update the
Commission as soon as he can. Mr. Barnes seconded the motion. A
voice vote was taken - all were in favor.
