Re: Waterways Assistance Program Fiscal Year 2000-2001
Dear Commissioners and Mr. Roach:
On behalf of the City of Sebastian, it is my pleasure to submit our community's
application for financial assistance from the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND)
r"%k Waterways Assistance Program. Funding from your agency would provide 40% of
expenses for the Sebastian/Indian River Waterway Enhancement Program, Phase I.
The SebastiantIndian River Waterway Enhancement Program is regarded as a high
priority project not only in Sebastian, but throughout Indian River County as well. In
December, 1999, the City of Sebastian was successful in acquiring over two acres of
Indian River frontage property for purposes of expanding recreation area, to encompass
shoreline restoration, boat mooring and ancillary landscaping. Funding for acquisition
was possible via financial commitments from the State of Florida Recreation
Development Assistance Program, Indian River County Government and the City of
Sebastian. A work in progress for over a year, your organization's participation will
ensure an outstanding waterway improvement project
In summary, city administration looks forward to a favorable review of our proposal.
Should you have questions and/or require additional information, please feel free to
contact me by calling (561)388-8203. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Sinc rely,
Terrence oore
