The City is seeking input from potential stakeholders and the public on the needs of low-income citizens. Approximately $120,000 per year of funding is available to the City for improvements that benefit low income citizens of the City. These funds must be used for one of the following purposes: 1. To benefit low income persons; or 2. To aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight; or 3. To meet other community development needs of a particular urgency because existing conditions pose a serious and immediate threat to the health or welfare of the community A public hearing was held for community organizations and the public to provide input into the consolidated plan. A draft plan has been developed based upon those comments. Activities proposed include housing repairs for veterans, sidewalks and pedestrian malls within the Community Redevelopment Area, flood and drainage improvements in LMI areas as well as other activities outlined in the draft plan for public comment.
