1 GENERAL
A) STRUCTURAL WORK SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AASHTO STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS
FOR HIGHWAY BRIDGES, 17TH EDITION (2002) DIVISION II, WITH ALL INTERIM SPECIFICATIONS
IN EFFECT, AND ASCE 7-02 FOR WIND LOADS, SUPPLEMENTED BY LOCAL REGULATIONS.
B) VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND SITE CONDITIONS PRIOR TO START CONSTRUCTION.
C) NOTIFY THE A/E OF ANY CONFLICTS, DISCREPANCIES OR INCONSISTENCIES.
D) USE STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS IN CONDUCTION WITH JOB SPECIFICATIONS, AND OTHER
DRAWINGS.
E) NO CHANGES IN CONSTRUCTION FROM THAT SHOWN IN THE SHOP DRAWINGS REVIEWED

4 FOUNDATIONS
A) FOUNDATIONS SHALL BE PREPARED IN FULL CONFORMANCE WITH THE GEOTECHNICAL
REPORT.
B) FOOTINGS HAVE BEEN DESIGNED FOR A MINIMUM BEARING VALUE OF 3,000 PSF.
C) THE TOP OF EXTERIOR FOOTINGS SHALL BE AT A MINIMUM OF 18" BELOW FINISHED GRADE, U.N.O.
D) PREPARE THE STRUCTURE AREA IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS IN THE GENERAL
SITE PREPARATION, FILL SELECTION, PLACEMENT AND COMPACTION SECTIONS OFTHE GEOTECHNICAL
REPORT. SEE 7.2, 7.3.
E) PREPARE FOOTING SUBGRADE SOILS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS PRESENTED IN
THE FOUNDATION SUBGRADE PREPARATION SECTION OF THE GEOTECHNICAL REPORT.
