BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SEBASTIAN, THAT THE
FOLLOWING VACATION POLICY PERTAINING TO ALL CITY PERSONNEL, EMPLOYED OR
APPOINTED, IS HEREBY ADOPTED: -
PAID VACATION
SICK LEAVE
I HOLIDAYS
AFTER 1 YEAR (365 DAYS FROM ANNIVERSARY DATE OF
EMPLOYMENT) - 10 WORKING DAYS VACATION.
ONE THRU FIVE YEARS - 10 WORKING DAYS VACATION.
AFTER COMPLETION OF THE 5TH YEAR, BNE EXTRA DAY TO BE
ADDED FOR EACH ADDITIONAL YEAR 'CORKED UNTIL A MAXIMUM
OF 20 DAYS IS REACHED AT THE END OF THE 15TH YEAR.
ALL PERSONNEL SHALL ACCRUE SICK LEAVE AT THE RATE OF
ONE-HALF (1/2) DAY PER MONTH.
SICK LEAVE SHALL BE USED ONLY FOR BONA FIDE ILLNESS
AND SHALL BE SUBSTANTIATED BY DOCTORS CERTIFICATE OR
BY SUPERVISOR OF INDIVIDUAL.
PERSONNEL MAY ACCRUE UP TO THIRTY (30) DAYS "SICK LEAVE."
SAID LL',,VE WILL NOT BE USED AS VACATION OR FOR ANY
PURPOSE EXCEPT ILLNESS, AND THE CITY WILL NOT PAY ANY
INDIVIDUAL FOR UNUSED SICK LEAVE. SICK LEAVE IS A
PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT. f�
EIGHT PAID HOLIDAYS PER YEAR, NAMELY: NEW YEAR'S DAY, I
WASHINGTON'S BIRTHDAY, MEMORIAL DAY, INDEPENDENCE DAY,
LABOR DAY, VETERANS DAY, THANKSGIVING AND CHR,ISTMAS.
PERSONNEL REQUIRED TO J30RK ANY OF THESE DAYS SHALL BE
PAID DOUBLE TIME: ONLY HOURS ;CORKED SHALL BE CONSIDERED
FOR DOUBLE TIME, AND ONLY INDIVIDUALS ACTUALLY ON DUTY
SHALL BE PAID.
VACATION ACCRUAL- ALL PERSONNEL ARE ENCOURAGED TO TAKE VACATIONS WHEN
EARNED. ALL EMPLOYEES MILL BE PERMITTED TO ACCUMULATE
A MAXIMUM OF 30 DAYS VACATION TIME. ANY EXCESS SHALL BE
FORFEITED.
EMPLOYEES .SILL NOT BE ALLOJED TO TAKE PAY IN LIEU OF VACATION TIME.
ANY DEVIATION FROM THIS POLICY SHALL BE HANDLED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS BY THE
CITY COUNCIL.
