APPROVAL OF MINUTES -ACTION ITEM December 7th, 2021 Meeting Minutes Recommendation: Submitted for Board Member approval Background: If Aqenda Item Requires Expenditure of Funds: Total Cost: n/a Attachments: Meeting Minutes from December 7th, 2021 NATURAL RESOURCES BOARD MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 7, 2021 Chairman Stadelman called the Natural Resources Board meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. II. Pledqe of Allegiance was recited by all. III. Roll Call Present: Dr. Carrier Dr. Mosblech Ms. Lovell Ms. Ware Ms. Callaghan Mr. Stadelman Mr. Carrano Ms. Valenzuela Mr. Bradley (Zoom) Also Present: Ms. Kim Haigler, Environmental Planner Ms. Lisa Frazier, Community Development Director Mr. Joseph Perez, AV Technical Assistant Ms. Janet Graham, Technical Writer IV. Close Regular Meetinq, Open Low -Impact Development & Green Infrastructure Workshop Mr. Stadelman announced that the regular meeting would now be closed and the workshop on Low -Impact Development and Green Infrastructure would be opened. The Board members moved to the tables. Ms. Frazier introduced herself and described what would be covered during the workshop. (OFF THE RECORD) (BACK ON THE RECORD) V. Close Workshop, Open Reaular Meetina NATURAL RESOURCES BOARD PAGE 2 MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF DECEMBER 7, 2021 Mr. Stadelman closed the workshop and reopened the regular meeting. VI. Approval of Minutes -- November 2, 2021 All Board members having had a chance to review the Minutes, Mr. Stadelman called for a Motion. A motion to approve the Minutes of November 2, 2021 as presented was made by Ms. Callaghan, seconded by Mr. Carrano, and approved unanimously via voice vote. VII. Announcements -- None VIII. Public Input Dr. Graham Cox, Sebastian. He stated that he understands that the City no longer has the services of Aquatic Vegetation Control, and he asked for clarification. Ms. Haigler said that is not true. IX. New Business -- None X. Old Business A. Christmas Parade: Friday, December 10t" at 6:30 p.m. 1. Float Details and Final Workday 2. When and Where to Meet Ms. Haigler asked for volunteers to help with the parade. Several Board members stated they would help. She also said there would be a seed -packet event on Thursday, December 9 at 2:30 p.m. in the conference room at City Hall. She asked the volunteers to meet in the City Hall parking lot at 4:30 p.m. on December 10t" to assemble the float. She will be getting plants on loan again this year. XI. Member Matters Ms. Ware announced that the Art Club will be having a holiday bazaar. They are selling plants to benefit the food bank and their scholarship fund. They give out two $1,000.00 scholarships each year. The bazaar will be held Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. between now and Christmas. Ms. Callaghan thanked Mr. Conklin for coming and being part of the workshop. NATURAL RESOURCES BOARD PAGE 3 MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF DECEMBER 7, 2021 Mr. Stadelman reminded everyone that Pearl Harbor Day is tomorrow. XII. Staff Matters Ms. Haigler said City staff are working with FPL regarding installation of some solar - powered charging stations. The first places that are being looked at are the City compound and the area around City Hall. She will have more information on that as time passes. She also stated that in February Emily Darth will be present at the Board meeting to discuss the Aquatic Preserves program which includes the spoil islands. Their group covers all of the Lagoon basically all the way down to Martin County. She will discuss how this group can help with "Leave No Trace." XI II. Items for Next Aaenda A. Begin Earth Day and Arbor Day Celebration Plans XIV. Adiournment There being nothing further, Mr. Stadelman called for a motion to adjourn. A motion to adjourn was made by Ms. Callaghan, seconded by Ms. Ware, and approved unanimously via voice vote. Meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
