Mayor Middleton appointed Stanley Loncon as temporary Police Officer for the City
of Sebastian to March lst,1951.Councilman Shaffer moved to accept appointment and was
seconded by Councilman Sembler.0arried.
It was moved by councilman .mllingsen that Mr Loncon's salary be made ~25.00 per
month which was seconded by Councilman Sembler and carried. ~ ~ o J/. /¢~-~

Meeting called to order by President Sweatt.
Those answering roll call were Mayor Middleton~resident Sweatt and Councilmen Sembler,
Ellingsen,Shaffer and Dahlstrom. uity Attorney James T.Vocelle present.
Minutes of regular meeting of Dec.llth.were read and approved.
Bills to the amount of $ 908.97 were ordered Paid on motion by Councilman ~lli~sen
and seconded by Councilman Sembler.Oarrled.
The Fire Department requested the ~lre Truck be lettered at a cost of $16.50 .by the
Elllott Sign Co of Veto Beach,Councilman Sembler moved that this be done which was seconded
by Councilman Shaffer.Carried.
It was moved by Oouncilman mlllntsen and seconded by councilman Dahlstrom that the
City withdraw from the League of Municipalities account of the membership dues being raised
from ~10.00 to ~5.00.0arried.
It was moved by Uouncilman Shaffer and seconded by uouncllman Sembler that a letter
be written to Mrs Hoyster in answer to her application for position as City Clerk that no
vacancy existed.Carried.
E.C.Peterson was reapolnted as oity Clerk on motion by ~ouncilman Sembler for
nomination and seconded by ~ouncilman Shaffer,Oouncilman Sembler moved that nominations be
c~osed which was secondedcby ~ouncllman ~llingsen.~arried. Term of Office to expire '0cc 1951.
The Olerks salary was set at ,E00.00 per month on motion by uouncilman Shaffer which
was seconded by Counc'ilman Sembler and 0arried.
Mayor Middleton asked the 0ity uouncil for a resolution to cover marking the liighwa~
with solid line to prevent passing in the congested districas, The following RESOL~'£'ION W~
INTRODUCED BY COUNCIL~ ELLINGSEN~ WHO MOVED ITS ADOPt'ION:
Whereas there are two serious traffic hazards which exist within the corporate limits
of the City of Sebastian,~'lorlda,one s~ the intersection of Fellsmere Rd with U.S.Hlghway
No.1 and the other at the Intersection of ~mln Street w~[th same Highway, and
WHEREAS: it would materially aid the City of Sebastian and the traveling public in the
prevention of accidents at the two dangerous intersections thereinbefore described,if the
State ~oad ~epartment of the State of ~'lorida,would place markings on 0.S.Highway No.l,so
as to indicate no passing of vehicles aroun~ each other from first Street to Washington Pi,'
and for a distance of 300 feet north of ,'ellsmere Rd and south of ~'ellsmere

A release of lien was authorized to be given covering the ~eor~ve Bradddck Estate
when said property is sold,by motion by Councilman Sembler which was seconded by Councilman
Ellingsen.Said release to be given for the amount og $100, Q0.carrled.

Special Meeting called to discuss the repair of City Hall.Meeting called to order by
President Sweatt.
~ose present were Mayor Mlddleton,President Sweatt,Councllmen Sembler,Shaffer and
Dahlstrom.
~The Council decided to have the City replastered and and other repairs made and Clerk
was asked to get bids on hourly basis.
Motion by Councilman Dahlstrom and seconded by Councilman Shaffer authorized the
Clerk to award to plaster work to the lowest bidder.Carried.
Motion by Councilman Bahlstrom to authorize President Sweatt to see about the
carpenter work,said motion was secomded bY Councilman Shaffer.0arried.
New lights was discussed and Council decided to take care of them later.

Special Meeting Jan 50,1951.
Meeting calle~ to discuss new lights and other work to be done at City Hall.
Meeting called to order by ~esident Sweatt.
After some discussion the City Council decided on three light fixtures with four
,ty watt enflorscent light tubes,and all new wire overhead to replace old wire.
wire and two new outlet boxes on wall to replace those that were rusted out.All new wire
in conduit.Two switches to contro~ lights at front door.
The Clerk was ordered to set bids on the electric work and low bid der was to Start
work at once. on motion by Councilman Sembler which was seconded by Councilman Dahlstrom,$1so
David Titus was to finish carpenter work and any othercwork needed.
Bids on plaster work reported to City Council are,David Titus $1.75 per hour and
Mr Farr at $2.25.
