Meeting called to order by President Sembler.
Those present were Mayor Taylor, President Se~bler and Councilman Nash,
Chesser and Benschop. Councilman Kutch absent.
Minutes of the last regular, meeting of December 14,1955 and special
called meetings of December 13 and December 14, 1955 were approved as read.
Bills amounting to Three Hundred Seventy Dollars and Eighteen Cents ($370.18)
approved b~ the Finance Committee were authorized to be paid on motion by.
Councilman ChesSer and seconded by Councilman Benschop. Carried.
It was moved by Councilman Chesser that proper identification be placed
on Police Vehicle. Said motion was seconded by Councilman Benschop. Carried.
Motion was made by Councilman Chesser to purchase three step signs for
City. Two for Louisana Avenue and Main Street and one for North Central and
First Street. Said motion wmm seconded by Coumcllman Nash. Carried.
President Sembler suggested Ma~or Taylor get in touch with the State
Ro~d Department regarding st~p signs for intersections of south Central and
Fellsmere Highway.
The Chief of Police was instructed to buy own uniforms. City paying for
Nayor Taylor was authorized by Council to have a talk with Judge Cobb
Pertaning to the Ordinance,Chapter No. 40.An Ordinance providing certain hours
during which Minors shall be prohibited from loitering on the public streets
etc. The Council to be informed of this talk at next regular meeting.
A move By Councilman Nash that the City buy two new tires for Police
car. Seconded~byCouncilman Chesser. carried.
The Cler~ was instructed to write a letter to proper authorities con-
cerning the caved in Sidewalk on South Central avenue and have them com-
municate with street and alley Committee.
Councilman Nash reported a Fish Fry to be given by the Fire Department
on Wednesday, February 8th.
The Clerk..was~instructed to see if Attorney Walker had sent Resolutions
to former. Nayor Shaffer and Councilman Ellingson for their past service to
the City.
Mayor Taylor suggested paying Chief of Police a salary of Sixty Two
Dollars and~flfty cents p~r week. Amotlon to that effect was made by Council-
man Nash. Seconded by Councllman Benschop. Carried.
Councilman Chesser--'was instructed by aouncil to find out approximate
cost of lighting. Park and report same at next regular meeting.
Mayor Taylor was authorized by Council to see Harry Bohannon Pertaining
to the parking of vehicles in front of City Bar at the intersection of Main
Street and Highway U~S.1.
There being no more business to come before the Council,meeting was duly
adjourned.
