HomeMy WebLinkAbout01091961Regular Meeting January 9, 1961 Meeting was called to order by President Sembler. Those present were Mayor Rohme, President Sembler and Councilman ~innegan, Nash and DeGristofaro. Minutes of the regular meeting of December 12th aud December 29th, 1960 were approved as read. Bills in the amount of $3,801.56 was approved By the'~inance committee and authorized to be paid on motion by Councilman Nash, seconded by Councilman DeCristofaro, carried. ~ouncilman DeCristofaro stated to the Council that he and Homan Strickland would meet with ~lorida Power and Light Company in reference to placement of additional street lights in Twin Lakes Division of Sebastian Highlands on Tuesday, january 10th, 1961. President Sembler stated that the zoning Commission had refused to act on a petition for the discontinuance of Adams Trucking business, located on ~est Main Street. City Clerk was instructed to write a letter to the zoning chairman requesting the chairman to appoint two members to this commission to replace I. J. Anderson, Jr. and John G. B~xter. President Sembler stated that the council met with Carter Engineering and Lloyd and Associates in reference to the discrepancy of a survey at the North City Limits between James ~. Darling and Carter Engineering firm, also stated that the council informed Lloyd to make a survey of the properties involved. Mayor Rohme reinvested the council to increase the wages of Douglas Savage to $350.00 per month to become effective January l, 1961. Council agreed. Mayor Rohme requested that the relief policeman be paid at a rate of $1.50 per hour to become effective January 7, 1961. Councilman Nash made a motion to grant the Mayor's request, second- ed by Councilman DeCristofaro, carried. Councilman Nash made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Finnegan, carried.
