Those present were M4yor Rohme~ President Sembler, Councilmen Nash, ~innegan, ~hxter~Brehmer. A~torney Vocelle ired City Engineer Darling were s,lso present. Bills amounting to $1603.94 were approved by the fin~nce aommittee and ~uthorized to be paid on a motion by Councilm~n Nash. Seconded by Councilman Brehmer. Carried. The minutes of the regular meetings of Dec. 14 and Dec. 28 and Special caUSed meeting of Dec. 22, 1959 were approved as re~!~,d. Co~nacilm~.,~n~ Baxter reported to the Council that street repamrs~' in the Seb~'~.~!tian Gardens ~o+~+~.~ Subdivision cost the city approximately $140 00 A.ttorney Vocelle was instructed by Council to cont,~-,~ct Mr E. A. Sirota in regard to these repairs ~ad sls.0 the condition of the drainage as it now exists. ,~ttorney Vocelle read the new le~.-~s~ agreement between the City of .~ttorney Vocelle presented the final ordin~nce of the anm. exation of the Twin Lakes Division of, Sebastian Highlands. He also read an ag~'eement regarding the adoption'!of the final annexation ordinance w~&c~,,set~ out various require- ments by the City. Th~s ,~.~:~reement was adopted as a form o$ agreement between ~he City of Sebastian and General Development Corporation on the first reading of the final annexation ordin~-~,nce of the Twin Lakes Division of Sebastian Highlands. Councilm{.~n Baxter made a motion to have an ordinance entitled"~N ORDINANCE ENNEXING THE LANDS HEREINAPTER DESCRIBED TO THE CITY OF AND CHANGING THE TERRITORI.~I~ LIMITS OF SAID CITY BY T.I[E ~d~NEXAT!ON OP UNINCORPORATED TR.?,CT OF L.~ND LYING CONTIGUOUS THERETO .AND WITHIN INDIA,N RIVER COUNTY, PLORIDA"~ to be read for the first time in full. Ba~t e r C~~ Brehmer Nays: John Siegel presented Plat ~1 of Unit ~9 of the Twin Lakes Division off Sebastian Highlands. Mr. Henry Prince met with the Council in reference tO a dr~'~inage problem located on his property running ffrom Cleveland Stree~ north parallel to the Indian River Drive. The city ~gineer was requested to meet with Councilman Baxter on Tuesday 12, 1960 to see what could be done to solving this dr~.~,inage problem The City Engineer presented a tent~'.,tive pl~t of the new portion of the Sebastian Cemetery. Council Brehmer made a motion to accept this tentative plat subject to the change of street right-of ways to 25 feet, This?~otion seconded by Councilman Nash. Carried. Co~..~ncilman Baxter made a motion to h~,ve the unrecorded portion of the Vickers ~emetery recorded. Seconded by Councilmam_ Brahm~r. Carried. The Council instructed City Attorney to furnish Quit-Claim Deeds to all heirs of the unrecorded portion of the August Park Cemetery, Councilman ~innegan made a motion that the City issue a Q~.~it-Claim deed to Miss Lenora Park for any interest the City may have' in a 30 foot easement of Lot #1 in .Block ??1 of Martin Subdivision, west of U. S. ~/~1 Highway. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nash and carried. Councilman Nash made a motion to instruct City Cl~rk to employ a secretary for the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 12 o'clock noon, 5 days a w~ek at a salary of $25.00 p~r week. Seconded by Councilman Brehm~:?r. Carried. The City Council instru, cted City .~:.ttorney to write the S:t~te Road D~;?pt. in reference to tho lowering of speed limits throughout the city limits. Councilman N-.~sh made a motion to acc,.',~pt G,':~orge Grantha.m's bid on signs as submitted to the Council. Seconded by Councilman Brehmer. C?..rried. Mayor Rohme read the m6nthly Polic,~ Report w~ich showed ~,~ net profit of $395.19. ~ Councilman Baxter roads a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Councili~an Finnegan. Carried.
