JANUARY 21 ,1947
meeting called to order byOhairman ~.R.~iddleton and upon roll call the
following answered present: J.R.Mlddleton,R.E.Turlington ,Ohas Simbler ,
Archie Smith and Harry ~ohannon, also mayor L.M.Shafor.
Chairman ~iddleton appointed Aechie Smith and Harry ~ohannon to the Appraisal
Committee along with theL~,6~er committees which had been appoin~ed at the
previous meeting.
'£he minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
netter of Smithurst and Parker was read to the Oouncil by Ohairman middleton
in regards to making an audit for ~he ~ity for the year 1946 motion made and
uN~ani~Lously carried that their offer be accepted and that ~ity ~lerk be
ins~ructed to write them a letter instructing them to make the audit at their
earliest convenience
~esolution was read relative to the property 0elng deoded to the Charles
L. ~tch Post. No. ~89 of The American Legion, being the American Legion Post
at Sebastian , ~lorida and reads as follows:
The Committee on ~treets was spoken for by mayor Shafor and he outlined
their plan for improving the streets in sebastian in the near future.
mr.Simbler reported qn cost of ~ump truck for the city and felt tha~
the price of a new truck was too much at the present ~ime.
An Ordinance imposing City ucupa~ional license upon motor Courts,
'fourist camps and Trailer ~arks within the Oity of Sebastian was read and
was unanimously carried on second reading upon motion by Dohannon and seconded
by Smith and unanimously carried by vote of Uouncil, it was agreed that the
ordinance shoul be read for a third time at the next meeting of the council.
~otion made and carried unanimously to increase t~e salary of the uity Clerk
$~§.00 per month.
~otion made by ~imbler and seconded by Turlington that lot at city Jail
be sold for the sum of ~100.00 and that Olerk write to ~he ~lorida ~ower
and ~ight Go.in regards to same
motion made to adjourn and unanimously carried.
