Meeting called to order by President Sweatt. Those present were Mayor Shaffer,President Sweatt and Councilmen Sembler,Elllngse , Nash and Taylor. On motion by uounctlman Ellingsen which was seconded by'Oouncllman Sembler,Mr Redfern's Lgnation was accepted. The Following Committees were appointed by the chair. FINANCE ........... Councilman Sweatt The question arose as to what the Council would do as to the open4uj~, an~d closing of the sale of beverages in the City of Sebastian,Whereby Councilma~i~ed that the of Sebastian conform with the County opening a~nd~ closing~ho6.r~.Vote on same being as follows, ~~'~-6'~i~n~ecl-6~ded 0y councilman ~embler Councilman Taylor Yes Councilman Nash Eot Voting Councilman Ellingsen Yes Councilman Sembler ~e s councilman Sweatt No The majority being in favor of the (~ounty opening and ~losing hours,the Clerk was instructed to have city Attorney to draw up Ordinance for ~$ acceptance by the city Council. Councilman Sembler Chairman of ~he streets told the City Council tha~ the heavy trucks were causing the streets to settle at the culverts where they run under the streets and suggested that heavy trucks be routed around to Highway to first street in order to save ~he streets.'~'he question arose as the parkin~ pn first street and it was sugested no parking signs ~e put up.No further action was taken and same was deleted for future action. It was moved by Councilman Ellingsen and seconded by Councilman Nash that the City hire another man to replace ~r Hedfern,satd motion carried and the Street Committee was authorized to get applications for same. Motion by ~ouncilman Sembler which was seconded by Councilman ~'aylor that the city pay $7.00 to man who worked on the ohristmas setting in the City parkooarried. It was moved by Councilman Nash anA seconded by oouncilman ~llingsen that the $ity ,t back taxes on lots 5-6 T.B.Hlcks S/'~ at the lowest valuation rate and at the present llage of the City.carried.
