Thise present at meeting were ~or Middleton,President Anderson and Councilmen Sembler,Letchworth,Ellingsen and Fark. Minutes of the last meeting of J,anuary l?th.were read and, there being no corrections were approved as read. ~llls to the, amount of $391.65 approved by the fimance committee were ordered paid on motion by Uouncilman Sembler which was seconded by ~ouncilman ,.'llingsen.~arried. uouncllman Sembler chairman of the street committee mentioned the purchase' of a two wheel trallor for the City to operate with the i~ractor but was tabled until a further dst e. ' On motion by ~ouncllman Sem~ler and seconded by councllmanmllingsen the clerk was ordered to purchase one gross of 50 watt rough service electric light bulbs for the traffic lights. The chair presented Ordinance. requiring.all licensed alcholic beverage establishments in the City of Sebastian, ~lorida to raise all shades,blinds and any other obstacle to to the plain and unobstructed view of the interior thereof from the outside after closing hours for such establishments as prescribed by the ordinances of said ~lty and providing penalties for any violation hereof, ~he adoption of said ordinance was asked and upon motion b~ Councilman Sembler and seconded by Councilman 'Letchworth and unanimously carried,said ordinance was read the first time by title oaly. 0pon motion by Councilman Sembler seconded by Oouncllman Letchworth and unanimously carried,said ordinance was read the second time by title only; There being no amendments offered upon motion made by Councilman Sembler seconded by Councilman Letchworth said ordinance was read the third time in f~ll and placed upon its final passage.The roll being called upon the final passage of said ordinance the result was as follows: Ayes: Councllmmm Anderson,Letchworth,~embler,Ellingsen and Park. Naye s: 1t one. Thereupon said ordinance having received an affirmative vote of three-fifths of all members of the council was declared duly adopted and upon being presented to the Mayor and having received his approval was numbered 120 of l~e Ordinances of the City,and was duly posted at the door of the City Ball of the 0ity of Sebastian in accordahce with the provisions of section 85 of chapter 1§6~ of the laws of Florida,being the charter of said ulty. uouncilman ~embler int~roduced an Ordinance entitled "An ordinanceto ferbld and punish any act within the ~lty limits of the ul'ty .of Sebastian,~'lorida which shall be rec-. onized ~y the laws of Florida as a misdemeanor. upon motion hy Uouncll~an Sembler and seconded by councilman '-etchworth and unanimously carried,said ordinance was read the f~rst time by title only. 0pon motion by Councilman .~embler seconded by Councilman ,.etchworth and unanimously~ carried,said ordinance was read the second time .by title only.; there being no amendent~ offered upon mot%on ~ Councilman sembler seconded by Councilman Letchworth said ordln~e was read the third time in full and placed upon final passage of said ordinance the read'It was as follows: Ayes: Councilmen Ander son,Sembler,~etchworth,Elllngsen and Par~. Nays: None Thereupon said Ordinance having received an affirmative vote of three-fifths of all mem~brs of the Council was declared duly adopted and upon being presented to the mayor and having received his approval was numbered ~hapter 121 of the Ordinances of said city and was thereupon duly poBted at the door of the Olty Hall o~ the City of Sebastian in ac.cord&ncc with the provisions of Section 85 of 0hapter 18~83 of the laws of ~"lorida, being the Uharter of said City. At this time the Uouncll debated on the possibilities of the ~ity buying oil and gas for the ulty owned tractor and ~nd other vehicles they may have or accuire from the distributors of same at tank prices and the Olerk was ordered to secure prices fron the different distributors. '~'he question arose as to the color of lettering for the Police Oar and the City council although debated on the color of black turned it over to Mayor mlddleton to handle. It was moved by Councilman ~ark and seconded by Councilman Elllngsen to save ~e roof of 'one Oity hall repaired at the lowest price.Material at 47.§0 plus labor which Was figured not to exceed $75.00.
