Lewis representing the Elliot ~dvertising Company appe.ared before the Council asking for a permit to erec~ a sign board on the side of the G. ~. Braddock property known and described a~ ~he Braddock Subdivision, Sec. 6, Twp. ~l, Range 1Wayor Badger was opposed to the building of a sign board the dimensions l~r. Lewis described, stating he believed a sign board this size would obstruct a part of the natural growth in the City. · ~fter discussing the n~tter and referring to the City Ordinance pert~ining to permits and as the sign was to be on private proper~y the application for a permit was approved. The Chairm~n referred the question of bulding permit regulations to the building Committee to investicate and report back to the Council. approved it wdll then be given the City ~ttorney to prepare an~ ordi~ce covering the requirements. &s there has not been any action taken to provide a signal at the crossing at },~in Street Councilmen Hicks moved the Railroad Cormaission bo advised which was seconded by Councilm~ Park and carried. The Directors of the ~ublic Hall Company were present in order to arrive at an understanding in reference to operating the hall. ~ license w..~s granted und the Directors agreed to close at midni£A~t and to rent only to persons who would agl~ee to conduct the entertainment in a satisfactory way. Councilman Viokers expressed himself as being in favor of a license large enough to provide for police protection. After discussing the matter he wished to go on record as not objection to dances provided it was carried on in a satisfactory manner. MOTION: made by Council~lan Vickers, seconded by Councilman Hicks, the VerU Beach Press Journal a newspaper of general circulation published at Veto Beach, Indian River County, Florida, be designated as the newspaper in which notice of tax sales for the City of Sebastian be published for the year 1930.
